My interest is in psychology and when people say "Well they were born in the wrong body" well....there can be cases of more estrogen or testosterone than normal which is found at times in children who turn out to be homosexual. However, with having a different mental than physical is hard to prove. There are too many factors to personality at this moment.

She is such a great mum - my mum disowned me because I asked for help because after my second brain surgery I was unable to care for my basic needs. Being intersexed is a disorder as we are suppose to have one gender or another. You said it yourself intersex gender is caused by extra chromosomes that are not normally present.Thus it is a disorder.

This boy/girl wants to live her life as a woman and looks great at it too, and I would tell her so. I tell everyone who dresses to tell your friends the truth and see where it goes from there.

to be brave enough to know what you want and know what you need to reach your dreams in life is alot better than to be stuck in a mentality and be depressed till the end of your days...i admire her for knowing what she really needed inside, and did what she needed to do to accomplish her dreams, instead of being afraid and withering away, i wish more people could be like her everyday

I'm not a psychologist and my degree is not in psychology but I still possess critical thinking skills and know b.s when I hear it. Transgenderism is a mental disorder and the psychological community agrees with me as it is still found in the DSM IV. The truth hurts but its still the truth.

That's not really true, it is seen as a disorder, but it's not a mental illness. There is such a thing has having a different mental gender, this depends on parts of the brain dealing with identity and gender, such as the hypothalamus. Gender ISN'T black and white, what about intersex people? people born with an extra chromosome? they exist and are numerous. the whole 'being born in the wrong body' is just a metaphor, to describe how a transgender's genitals contradict their identity.

Being intersexed is a disorder as we are suppose to have one gender or another. You said it yourself intersex gender is caused by extra chromosomes that are not normally present.Thus it is a disorder.

weather it is a disorder or not is pretty irrelevant, if anything it only empowers a transgender persons choice to change their body, as they are technically correcting the disorder, as they are adapting to fit what their brain chemistry is telling them. there's no reason at all to hate or shun transgender people
