Just an update on this ute, it is now auto, new turbo, transbrake and on slicks, it's the quickest 1JZ in Australia with a 9.86 quarter mile at 138mph

@marek0086 vvti motors have higher compression and have smaller inlet ports for better response there a better stock motor then the normal 1jzs but the early model 1jzs are alot better for big power upgrades with better flowing internals and lower compression so they handel more boost.

Just port the inlet ports and use a thicker head gasket!.

@marek0086 yeah its a tad more expensive that way but i guess that makes the vvti models just as suitible as the early models except you get all the benifits of increased torque at lower revs and autos arent a bad thing...smart drag racers alwauys use autos leave the line with massive boost and because you dont have to let off the gas until the runs over you get constant power throught the rev range compared to a manual which may drop off power curve whilst shifting.
