  • RIP Seth Webster. Seth passed away 22 Jan 2011. He was my nephew. Please help these folks train these dogs. Diabetes is a terrible disease and anything you can do to assist is positive. Seth was only 40 years old. A wonderful guy.

  • We will miss you Seth. Thanks for being such a big inspiration to us.

  • you have put a lot of effort into this dog..

  • @YOURstalker16 It takes a lot of work from a lot of people to make a guide dog.

  • @MsBerryMary Toy breeds are just too small to be guides. Standard poodles, smooth coated collies, and australian shephards have also been used.

  • Hi there great show i really enjoy it i was wondering i'm putting together a small personal website and was wondering if you would mind if i put a link on it to your show if you could get back to me that would be great

  • Oh, man. I can only imagine the smell near the sea lions.

  • I love the chase birds to ricki so dont feel bad

  • Another awesome week. Hopefully she'll get over her bird issue. :)

  • How long does the training last for guide pups? When does the program expect you to turn over fully trained, awesome dog ninja?

  • @HesterMcLester We will have Ricki until she is 14-17 months old. Then she will go to school and learn to pull in harness and all the specialized skills that she will need to be a guide like Bamboo.

  • Very well done. This is great!

  • Very well done! This is great!

  • Her bird obsession reminds me of Riccochet from "Service Dog to SURFice dog", let's hope that Ricki can get over her attraction. :) The working guide dog team was amazing! Keep up the great work. :D

  • @therapydogchick I have seen the video, very awesome! Funny thing though, Ricki has a brother named Riccochet :)

  • Now I want to visit San Francisco. Great episode.

  • I took my first dog to Venice (yes really Venice) and sat in the middle of all the pigeons in the square for a few hours... that certainly helped with her bird distraction. Perhaps do something similar with Ricki... just make it all that you do for a morning... take a picnic... sit in the sun and just overwhelm her with birds

  • Hahaha!! The Birds!!!

  • Nice special effects !

  • Great episode once again! The series just keeps getting better and better.

  • @daneboe Thanks Dane!

  • @GuideDogManiac do you know who that is? that person who you were talking to?

thats annoying orange! he have a second account channel as annoying orange!

    hes famous!

  • great job on this episode...SF looks awesome

  • wow there were a lot of sea lions? ricki gets to see more of the world each time she goes goes out.

  • this is a winner winner pigeons dinner,,,,,,

  • Great Job! I love watching Seth and Bamboo navigate through the pigeons and then showing how Ricki needs to work on not letting the pigeons distract her on walks.

Pier 39 looked like a great place to work on Ricki's training. I hope I can find some good spots for Dublin and I.

  • It was interesting watching Ricki at Pier 39.

  • ENJOYED SEEING RICKI AT PIER 39.

  • 29 episodes and still going...this is what is seems to be Ricki's own "facebook". Great job Matt and Amie!

  • @keeptubing Thanks Sorin. We are enjoying the ride.

  • maybe there is some where you can go that has chickens with clipped wings of something to get her to be less bird distracted.

  • The bird distraction stuff is great in this.:p

  • What will a guide dog do if the Owner was to let go of the handle and was unable to call for the dog? Are they trained to feel the person holding them?

Also, I would like to see Ricki drive the Charger. Just sayin...

  • @3BricksHigher When the handle is dropped the dog stops immediately. Also, we do obedience training everyday which leads to excellent response to commands including recalls (come), GOOD DOG!

  • @Bambooshuman P.S. Ooopps, we (handlers) also keep the leash between our first two fingers, so even if the handle is dropped you still have the umbilical cord in hand.

  • @Bambooshuman I was thinking if a mute blind person was to drop the handle how that would work. I should have clarified.

Thanks for the response. I'm just a curious person when it comes to things I don't understand. Hope my question wasn't offensive. :)

  • @3BricksHigher Definitely not offensive. At Guide Dogs for the Blind they offer a special needs program foe people with other disabilities in addition to their visual issues. Also, we use body language during a recall (and some other obedience commands); I would guess that they would do some extra training with a dog to get it working purely on gestures and body language.

    CHEERS!

  • Ricki is sure helping with the drama element lately. Is she gonna have what it takes to be a guide?

  • hey i am subed to your husbands chann and you know what it is weird cause i subbed to you first and subbed him then seen the vid with the car prank with you (it is weird you think youtube is huge but you seem to know everyone) lol

  • @ultimatefunster it is a small world :) Thanks for the subs :)
