I heard a famous driving instructor say this wasn't good idea, but if I see a RIGHT curve approaching, I drop my LEFT hand lower & grasp the wheel. And Vise Versa.
This way my hand position stays neutral (@ 9:00 and 3:00) throughout the wheels angle, and thus I have equal L & R recovery range of motion should she step out. You can't do that if your hands are glued to 9 & 3:00 & you cross them.
Don't know why "they say" that's not a good idea, but it sure works fer me.
Neat car. Love those GT4s. Some racing lessons would help. BOTH hands on the wheel, at 9 and 3, brake in a straight line, shift consistently. Smooth before fast...
I'd agree that his steering technique is pretty unorthodox, especially that weird left hand on top of the wheel bent over thing- but his actual driving isn't bad, he;s going rather quickly through the turns and has a good line.
Cool vid. He handled the actual spinout pretty well but I know he was pissed especially since it stalled. But like putsch1said the screwed up the 180 cause he held in the clutch too long.
I don't know if the driver was "frazzled" after the spin, but god, he screwed up the 180 with an over rev. At least the video was entertaining to see a 308 driven decently on the track
Always loved the 308s... especially the GT4s..

And NEVER PUT YOUR THUMBS IN THE WHEEL! Unless you want them broke?
He's gonna need surgery when he pushes that thing up up in a barrier!

Important to remember but hard to do. Going loose? Don't lift.

he is certainly not a racing driver! No double-de-clutching or rev matching on downshifts, and doesn't keep his hands at quarter to three.
