Shortly before this skit was produced in the 1970s (Cold War) maybe a few news items about friction between Uzbeks and "mother Russia" made western news. TV networks lean towards socialistic view points here, so we only had a news blip.

SCTV script writers went to work and produced this clever spoof, a socialistic "brain-washing" TV ad. "Uzbeks" "Uzbeks" Uzbeks" "Don't give them money or matches" Classic satire of a dysfunctional political system.
