This is not blackface in the traditional sense at all. If it were it would be trying to make African-americans look like "coons!" It is not. The make-up is not caked on in a theatrical way as "blackface" is and the lips are not being accentuated. Instead it is merely the portrayal of an individual through the use of *realistic make-up.* This is no more offensive than Eddie Murphy playing a white Jewish man by means of realistic make-up as well. We do have better out there. I just don't think the CBC has the balls it used to anymore. That and as soon as alot of comedy talent arises it gets poached by the states. Our own fault i guess for not supporting talent here. Though to contrast that point, if i see another east coast comedy special i will punch the next older lady i see in a heavy cardigan.
