Ive been crossing the Columbia River Bar for 40 years. This vid is that bar.

There are pro's and cons to calling the USCG there.

They like to tow boats. Many of their tow's sink.

Most of these guys are there for training. It is a major bar training base.

@cokeicee yes they are strapped in. life is WITH the boat. boat is designed to roll over and upright itself in under 30 sec. if you come away from the boat no telling when you will bob to the surface. I believe these are 53 ft boats twin 671 engines boat is built like a cork fully waterproof hardy men in this area of the coast guard. ps location is the mouth of the columbia between oregon and washington

this is the columbia river it seperates oregon and washinton narly bar to cross in winter im a commercial fisherman and this is what we deal with on a daily basis not just here gotta cross a bar to get in any port on the west coast
