hi again, i love all kinds of animals and hoping to persuade my husband! a ways back i would have liked to get an alpaca or a white duck and if i had a small pond of water a swan. just having a rabbit (pheobe) and a dog (brutus) are enough for me. Indoor rabbits throw alot of their timothy hay out of the cage. But when your your crazy for animals like me ,ya don't mind the mess. seeya PAM
i had a samoyed who i grew up with and she came down with a slyver problem and went through expensive opswhen she was 9/10 then it came to it and she had to have her left eye taken out but she was buitiful and on the 5th november 2009 she came too ill and had to be put down she was gorgus. R.I.P katera anyway your dogs are gorgus and your husky is way cuter than mine mines grumpy and thinks shes a cat and she prefers sunbathing to snow lol.
@goloet this is my second Samoyed, I grew up with one, and let me tell you that Sammy's can shed! you really dont know what shedding really is until you have owned a Sammy. During shedding season you have to make sure you upkeep with the grooming or else you will end up with what I call "snow balls" throughout your home. See my siberian's shedding is about a 3 (in a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the least) compared to a Sammy's 9. However, I wouldnt change a thing :-)
I agree with you about not changing a thing. I used to have a sammy (pumpkin) she was soooooo beautiful she lived to the age of 15 . but talking about shedding wow her hair broke down vacuums and she would shed in clumps just like you described snowballs!! everyone would stop me or point outside the car window "what kind of dog is that? or how do you keep her so white. I would tell them she had a build in scotch guard. when she passed i cried for 6 months. now i have a rabbit and a copper lab.
@tyupism haha I thought I was the only one who's dog broke the vacuum with all that hair!! that's funny, I know exactly what you are referring to. Now, we use an industrial vacuum, had to spend the extra $, otherwise its 2 vacuums a year..lol. I am sorry about your loss, I can only imagine how poignant it must have been :( I'm sure your Lab & Bunny wabbit make your days a lot brighter, since our furry companions tend to bring the best out of all of us...

I'm blessed with a beautifu accident. Two purebred show dogs, a huskie male and a samoyed female got together one day when owner was rebuilding kennel and taking a coffee break and the result is the best dog ever: half Sami, half Huskie, full bred devil and sweekheart. Owner just wanted her to have a good home since he couldn't sell her nor show her, so I got her. Smart, long Sami hair and tail, sweet Sami nautre, Huskie markings and orneriness. Vocalizes more like Husky. Her pal is pure Sami.

I got my husky from a breeder in North Carolina and the poor puppy had ear mites & round worms. I had to treat him for 4 months since I got him....Gladly he is now 100% healthy & on preventatives.
@siikajarv Wow! That is exactly how we got our half husky/ half sami in Dallas a few years ago. The breeder was taking his coffee break when the parents accidentally got together. We got one of the last pups (they named her Groovy), but she is exactly how you described: beautiful, sweet, ornery, extremely intelligent. I'm curious if we are talking about the same person. Either way, that dog has changed our family for the better! We even got a pure bred Samoyed to give her a friend to play with.
Yes they are, they are beyond a doubt one of the greatest breeds, at least in my eyes. Ive been blessed with a very happy & good willed Sammy. Teddy Bear is the best!...Now the siberian is bigger and they both are just so well mannered. I couldnt ask for more. They will do their naughty acts here and there but overall they are good. Sammies are extremely smart too, they just need an owner with a lot of patience & dedication. These dogs need a lot of exercise & stimulating activities.

See how good natured Samoyeds are? I've dig dog rescue for both Samoyed and Siberians, and I wouldn't own a Siberian now that I've had a Samoyed.
Samoyeds have the best personality of any animal I've known, but I don't think most people are capable of properly owning them.
