  • @majav15mg not at all :)

  • @majav15mg helll no :)

  • @majav15mg nope u're not :)

  • Be carreful when the girls be angry!

This is a one case in thousand! Jejejeje

  • This recording is just pure perfection and isnt matched (not even close to) by Bartoli. Gotta stop listening to it compulsively!

  • check out cecilia bartoli singing this! she is FIERCE!

  • @oliviasmulyan Yes she is! I think I should get payed for filming it xD

  • @spenzur yes you should!

  • BEST OF OPERA...

  • I would litterally KILL for her to sing a solo recital in Paris next year. Or anywhere I can get to by plane!

  • Double u t f .. that's amazing.. Oh how I love Vivaldi..

  • These fast furor aria's will never bore me. And Romina should be more famous. I am going to hear her live soon!

  • This is... there are no words.

Is there a download link of some kind, so I can listen to this all the time?

  • @Claviernumerique add it to your playlist then you will hear it all the time

  • Beautiful!

Is there a part from the opera sung by Romina Basso, with video? I see Rosique's parts here and there, but not a single moving picture with Romina. :-(

  • Wow... GREAT!

    2:17 ... 2:27 Amazing !!!

  • Pure baroque passion!

  • She sounds almost like Jaroussky. No problem with that, though.

  • Man, listening to this stuff is like feasting on forbidden chocolate. Only the Red Priest could create an aria like this.

  • I feel so ashamed that I found out about this recording a year after its release. Modo Antiquo is one of my favorite ensemble and Romina's voice is...outside of my range to accurately describe as with the instrumentation.

  • E' una delle arie più belle di Vivaldi.. interpretata magnificamente dalla BASSO.

  • How fervent, how passionate -- it has both the furious and the softly flowing styles! Well sung, Romina.

  • Hermosa pieza del Barroko del gran maestro Antonio Vivaldi.

    ¡¡¡ Una verdadero deleite !!!

  • I love the voice, and the fast pace of the piece. She sounds more like an alto, anyway she does it great. The middle part is beautiful too. Thanks for posting

  • luscious voice great music

  • she is as passionately desirable as she is dangerous

  • Dear HARMONICO101: I think there's not age for love this kind of inmortal art... I was a real baby when I heard Vivaldi and Bach for fist time! And I still love them with all my soul :o)

  • I have also always loved this music as we all know that there are always exceptions to any generalization.

  • Vivaldi Arias... There's simply nothing like them.

  • I simply love this song. and the voice tha sing it. it's amazing. where I can I find the audio?.

    dove po incontrare cuesta canzione?

  • Romina Basso's is the SEXIEST VOICE I have ever heard!!!!!!

  • I am now realizing that I am replaying this video for probably...the hundredth time today without getting bored. The more I listen to this, the more amazed I am at how good Romina's voice is in the da capo section.

  • What a voice!!!!! GREAT RENDITION!

  • This is my favorit video

  • I love the sound of this. It is incredibly dramatic and is incredibly beautiful. It could also perhaps be performed by an Il castrato. This is first class violin playing, with its vibrato :-)

  • hmm, i think the picture may not be appropriate, but it reflects the tormented person just like the tormented music i guess.

  • I find the photo you have chosen really nice and not inappropriate. The music is exquisite. Any reasons you did not accept the friend invitation I sent you?

  • Wow. It's so interesting how so many comments on this video are about the image, instead of the brilliant music. ;)

  • Indeed. It's funny, in the world of art, when people argue about your work, you know you must be doing something right!

  • It's a strong image, but perfectly appropriate and in harmony with the text and the music of Vivaldi!

    Mary

  • superbe interprétation pleine de fougue ,fusion totale des voix et des instruments.Un régal.Vite ,courons acheter le cd.

  • Awesome work. Thank you for making such a great magnitude of classical works available .

    ***** Five*****

  • Thanks again for the kind commments. I admit, I have a soft spot for these "furioso" arias, despite the fact I am not an opera fan.

  • This is a great pairing. While I can only bite my nails, I'm sure some are already sliding closer to their computer screens.

Classical music should righteously be evocative.

  • Perfect music! Thankyou very much, I just love it.

  • When I first saw this picture, I thought the woman in the photo cut her lip and then smeared the blood onto her right cheek. I guess it is lipstick, not blood. Nonetheless, listening to this aria's fast tempo pumps me up.

  • It is lipstick, though I see if you thought it might be blood.

I agree, this is very energizing music. :)

  • "Don't excite yourself too much, Harmonico."

    I'm just making a point.

"Thanks to your "geriatric" listeners there is at least an audience for baroque music"

Yes, and I am glad for it. But unfortunately, it means that this audience won't be around for long if there aren't any young listeners.

  • "it is

uncivilised to insult them for it."

No insult is intended. I do not intend to stereotype, but unfortunately what I say is true. Classical audiences are stingy, particularily older audiences for obvious reasons. There are of course, exceptions.

  • "Placing a modern photo with your posting will not necesarily attract young listeners."

You'd be surprised how effective it is, but nevertheless, that's not my intention, nor my expectation. I simply like the combination.

    "it is an unforgettable performance."

    Indeed. :)

  • What you wrote was unfair... "'geriatric' listerners"? What a rudeness!! With everyone who likes classical music, I like it too and I'm a 20 young woman and I don't accept it.

What awful thing to say! Shame on you, you lout.

  • I'm young too, and I have subscribers who are in their teens. I have not and will not say that ALL audiences of classical music are geriatrics.

However, when was the last time you went to a classical concert and saw anything other than a majority of grey headed audience members?

And when did "geriatric" become an insult?

Thank you for insulting me when I did nothing of the sort to you.

  • I'm so sorry, but I wasn't saying this to you I said this to other person, I was saying to windschering.

    You're completely mistaken.

    Because, windschering was completely unpleasant.

And you really did nothing to me, I don't have any to complain about you.

  • Oh no, well I apologize profusely then. I misundertood your writing. Please forgive me. :)

  • Forgive my unfavorable perception of your character, windschering!

  • Favourited.

  • Bravo

  • Lovely!

  • I don't think the picture suits the music, in my humble opinion. It looks too modern and abit explicit in a way for the music.

  • Excellant. I'm glad you feel that way. That means I have succeeded.

There's a reason a vast majority of classical music listeners are geriatrics. There is a refusal for change, for anything new. Just because these are old pieces, they don't need to be only associated with old things. And I'm tired of using old paintings for all of these posts, which help to drive home the archaic element of the music and deny it entry into the modern world. This is one of the reasons classical music is dying.

  • Hmm, have you watched Youtube statistics for your videos? If I watch mine I see that the largest group is not 'geriatrics' but middle-aged people

    45-54 years old ca 25%

The 'geriatrics' (65+) doesn't make up even 5%

Also the age group 13-17 (5 years) is almost

as big as age group 25-34 (10 years). Around 10% and 12% respectively.

I would say that young people are getting more and more interested in classical music and Youtube has played a huge part in this.

  • The 65+ group spends very little time on the internet, so those statistics hardly represent life outside the computer. The vast majority of those on the internet are those below the age of thirty, so I think youtube statistics are not very reliable. Also, not everyone who views youtube material have channels. In fact, the vast majority do not.

  • Whether or not Youtube is helping younger people become more interested in classical music, I can't say for certain. But in the "real world", I have seen little difference. The real indicator is in CD/Mp3 sales, and live concert ticket sales. I have yet to read anything, nor have witnessed anything to suggest the trend of classical music's drop in popularity has changed for the better. It's tragic, but true.

  • How is it explicit anyway? She's smearing her lipstick. Are we Puritans here or something? Is the female mouth now vulgar to depict? I think it wonderfully conveys the character in the aria whose just discovered her husband has commited adultery. It's sensuality also convey's Romina Basso's incredible voice.

  • thanks for the translation!

  • Oh I LOVE it!

  • When I heard Romina's entrance, I actually gasped. It truly left me breathless. No hyperbole!

    What a heavenly voice!!!

  • very nice :)
