If the "don't consume anything that is harmful to you" a valid point in Islam, then shouldn't dietary intake such as foods high in fat and sugar also be considered haram? If we say that smoking hookah is haram then so should high fat/sugar food be as well, disagreement with this argument is on its face the height of hypocrisy.

That's all there is to it, if the harm is greater than the benefit than it is not permissible. For example alcohol. The harm is definitely greater than the benefit . So it is Haram. Believe it or not, there are for example of people who use cocaine or any other hard drugs who can be use such things responsibly. My family has a history of diabetes, and right now, I am drinking Sweet Tea from McDonald's. This is definitely going to be harmful to me since of my family's health history. And he says candy is "permissible".

Allah hating? Of course, it is not the first religion to speak of a god hating, but struck me. Hate is a consuming emotion. If Allah hated, wouldn't that mean he was consumed by it? Disdain or disapproval is one thing, but hate is something else.
I understand its hard to quit. I used to smoke for years and recently stopped. One thing that may help you is quit is to think about the millions of blessing Allah swt has blessed you with. In reality, taking away one or two things (that is beneficial for you anyways) makes no difference.
