LOVE OMAN AND MISS IT SOOOO MUCH ........i am OMani and no offense your a great photographer but i think if any man saw you taking pictures of his wife or daughter i can garuntee he ill hit you ......always ask permission .....Oman is a truly peacful country i LOVE MY COUNTRY SOO MUCH
1) How do you know he didn't get permission first for these pics?
2) Do you look at every photojournalist's work and, instead of being moved by the subject matter and thinking about cultural similarities and differences, fret about whether permission was asked of each and every person they snapped a picture of (many of whom are probably more pragmatic and concerned with things like feeding themselves than rather some westerners see them)? If so, you're really missing the forest for the trees.
I bet you have never been there and you have just read some spiel about oman on your governments travel section, you presumed without knowing as if you know it all, I think you'll find aboriginees in australia believe their soul, or part of it is taken when photographed, not people from fking oman you dumb presumptious idiot, go home and, read/study your fking asshole, and then you'll understand peoples perspective of you. bye now!
and for one, i've been to that country, and yes they do care if you are taking photos of them. they care quite a bit actually. i'm not reminding him because i am concerned personally, i'm reminding him because those people have a culture where they believe that photos of them belong to them alone, and you are taking something from them by capturing an image. i don't even need to get into thee customs about their sensitivity towards their women
Omani people, even the culture and music is similiar to us bandari people of southern Iran. I also heard that in Oman there lives a of minorety people who speak Komzari which is a persian dialect, excactly the same dialect we speak in Bandar Abbas(Iran) Hormuz area. Very nie video, keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i luv oman...and omani people...i lived there for more than 6 years and feel its my own country...my salutations to all omani people as well to His Majesty and his team of ministers who are all very peace luving people

beautiful pictures, but you really should be a little more careful taking pictures of the people. get permission from them first. good work though.

...this has absolutely nothing to do with berating his good work in taking photos. i complimented him already, twice.
ryanbaseball22 3 years ago
All that makes sense, ryan. It's just the assumption that he _didn't_ ask permission, without first asking him, that's odd to me.
