  • @mewmewisabella braces for 4 years doesnt quite work in someone with a very sever underbite. Sometimes surgery is necessary

  • Holy shit! my dentist says that i need this surgery in about 1 year :O But here in Denmark is it free to get health surgerys, so the state pay the bill :P

  • If your bite is this messed up, surgery is a small price to pay for a lifetime of proper jaw alignment. It's just like any other broken bone. Hardly any pain, and the swelling is almost completely gone within 10 days. Done it.

  • @anthonylowtheris I hardly think its a small price to pay - this procedure can cost up to $20,000US (or even more) depending on your insurance company. If you are able to find a price any cheaper let us know. The majority of the cost comes through the procedure itself, not including medication or permanent inserts you receive.

  • @Alejandromichael84 The surgery costs most people $15,000. However, most insurances cover the cost of this surgery, since it is not cosmetic. Don't let the cost of the surgery deter you from having it done. Even if I had to pay 20 grand, I'd still do it. I have BCBS and it covered 100% of the surgery, except for a nominal co-pay of $350. Braces are where the real money is spent, since insurance often does not cover the full cost of braces.

  • @anthonylowtheris Really appreciate comments like these!! Thanks man. having my surgery in about 12 months

  • Been there, done that.

  • I'm almost 18. My family is poor so I couldn't get invisalign. Now I'm going to be coming into a significant amount of money because of my distant relative and I'd much rather have a swollen and sore face from surgery for two weeks rather than braces through my early twenties.

  • WTF? the jaw was fine!

  • even though this is just an animation it makes me fucking cringe!! im so glad i only had a crossbite. now my teeth are straight.

  • OH SHIT! JUST BY WATCHIN ' THIS IT MADE ME FEEL DIZZY ..

I'D RATHER EAT SHIT THAN THAN HAVING THAT ! WHOAH !

  • THAT LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD BE BEYOND THE MOST UNHOLIEST OF PAINFUL EXPIRIENCES.. WITH A RECOVERY TIME THAT WOULD SEEM LIKE AN ETERNITY... I FEEL FOR ANYONE WHO HAS HAD TO DO THIS OR HAS TO FACE THIS AS THEIR ONLY OPTION... GOD BLESS U...

  • OMG WTF.

I'd rather have braces for like 4 years than have people cut my effing face up!!

  • @mewmewisabella Some cases require an orthognatic surgery or else their teeth (both jaws) cannot match decently and thus brings difficulty in chewing. This surgery can also be used to fix sleep apnea depending on the patient (it requires the lower jaw to be moved).

  • @Peanutblood omfgg

  • @Peanutblood my teeth dont line up..one jaw is bigger than the other and sugery is a LAST resort. I'm getting my braces off in a month or so so i guess I'll find out if I need it..

  • @mewmewisabella you'll never have the same result with just braces. Not in a million years. Get the surgery if you need it.

  • @mewmewisabella I had this and Im fine. Im glad that I had it!
