Paoli,O'Sullivan,Merli,Paoli,C­orelli,Del Monaco etc.etc. che cosa ne pensa per la voce di Domingo...

In questa epoca per entrare in un coro era obbligatorio durante l'audizione che i candidati tenori cantano si e do naturale.Queste sono le parole di Gino Becchi...

Oh, come on all you naysayers. We're fortunate to be living at the same time as Domingo. He is a treasure and one of the musical wonders of the world. At 70, he's still virile and potent and magnificent no matter what vocal fach he occupies. It's true, when he was younger, as in this video, I thought of him as a pushed-up baritone but the joke is on me.

I have to laugh at all the "experts" here on YT. They do not realize there is a difference between live recordings in concert halls (the singing is different with respect to size of the house,) operatic performances (where acting SHOULD be required, and where staging play a big role e.g. is the singer standing, sitting, reclined, facing the audience or not, and studio recordings with microphones. Many experts forget the differences from e.g lyric tenors to dramatic ones. "Better" vs prefer.

#2, This aria is not one of the most demanding ones.

#3, Heard better, both in technique and interpretation.

#4, Domingo's problem in technique is not the "middle voice", it's high up in the tenor range. B's, C's, C#'s? D's?

Right about B is his comfort limit.

Domingo should have stopped singing in the mid eighties. The fact that he still does is not proof he can sing, but that the audiences are very nice to him.
