Greece now holds the worst record for animal abuse in the EU, something to be proud of? Apart from being starved, tortured (a favourite in Crete is to drag a dog behind the back of a fast moving car), countless cats and dogs are poisoned at the end of every tourist season, crushed glass hidden in food is popular.

If the comments arent necessary, then evidently you are not a cat or dog lover! I actually donate enough money to sponsor several animals anyway, but thanks for the idea!! I can put you in touch with a very nice Greek family who live in Kos and also a shelter there who work very hard, perhaps you would like to volunteer your services the next time you visit Kos.

i have been working in kos, and never found any deads dogs, we all look after the dogs and cats here!!

There's more to Kardamena than just clubs, loud music and non stop parties .... In March NINE dogs were found hanged on one tree, with skeletons of at least another 20 dogs scatterd in the grass around the tree! So if you are an animal lover, don't spend your money in Kardamena, though most of the rest of Greece is no better where (ill)treatment of animals is concerned.
