Can they talk? I just got mine today and he seems really friendly and calm and he didnt even bite the pet store guy. Anyways i was just wondering if they can talk and what would be a good approach to train them.
@mysterygirlski I don't think you'll ever get them to say more than a few words. Gizmo will say "step up" -or rather something that sounds like it- only because he's been asked a few hundred times. We also initially tried to get him to say "hello" which he tries really hard to say, but it isn't really clear. Perhaps if you are more diligent with a treat system than we are or take the time to sit and repeat words to him yours will speak more. I wouldn't expect him to ever speak clearly though.
@davalfthewhite Aw, he's cute! I've had mine for 5 years. She says 15 different words and phrases + she makes 7 more imitating noises. My vet says she's unusual. I never believe it when I hear that they can't speak well. She is not an incredibly clear speaker, but most people can understand her. Her favorite thing to say is, "What are you doing?" and she says it incredibly clearly. Compared to my Eclectus, she can hold her own. c:

My CWP sounds like he tweet-talks "Pretty Bird," but I'm never sure.
He "machine guns" a lot, and my Pineapple GCC copies him!
