if you know or did get this in retail price. how much was this when it came out 2007 i believe? and how much was the T60p brand new when it first came out?? thanks in advance.
I just got this 5 days ago and it is a Type 2007 version with ATI graphics. Can you help me find a replacement battery for this that is genuine and new? And RAM?
@2fast4uspartan I am not sure if Lenovo sells new battery for this anymore, but if you type in the model number of your battery on their website than you can see if they still have it (sorry I don't know the model number for the battery anymore). As for the RAM, the T60 uses DDR2 SO-DIMM (up to 2 sticks total), so you can buy them from any retailers like Newegg. Just be aware that due to a hardware limitation it will only support up to 3GB.
@macroecon So is Windows 7 worth using on this performance wise or Windows XP? I have 1GB now but I want to install 4GB or at least 2GB to really make good use of it. I also think I might need to change the HDD from the stock 80gb one. What kind of HDD does it require? A standard 2.5in one? Thanks for your help
@Sinchinchilla09 very good but needs better processor and this lappy is resistant as heck... 2 days ago i dropped it from my kitchen table and accidentaly put the chair on and sat with the force of 60kg mate buy it
one of the best laptops made. The T60. I am using one with 4GB RAM and WIN7 and it has never pulled any issues for the past year. None. Saw a used one for today for USD 200... will pick one up later in the month hopefully.
i like this laptop and I am really excited on getting one in about 3 days. Even though it's a little old, it's actually one of the best cause of how strong it is, and i am getting windows 7 which is gonna be cool. Great review by the way,
I have a problem with my lenovo thinkpad t60. I have dual core 2.00 ghz rated 3.3. ghz, 2 gb ddr2 ram and 512 mb pixel shader 3 video card. It passed crysis on site can you run it. But actually even counter strike cource is lagging on minimum graphics. Changed bios and putted on xp. Nothing helped. Is this supposed to be this way?
I'm looking for the cheapest notebook (but not planning to buy) and I've found out that this laptop is one of the cheapest notebooks with the price of $219.99... Am I correct?
@NoFaceChannel Hmm, not sure if $219.99 is the cheapest price out there for a cheap notebook, but if you can find a good condition T60 for that price then it certainly sounds like a good deal.
I just found a t60 that was looted and tossed for scrap. I rescued it, and it works like a dream. Upgraded it to a 330gb harddrive and 8gb ram. Totally worth the $140 it took me to get the damn thing working.
@akonaito1 Yeah, I think for some Thinkpad models that's true. While you might still be able to get Thinkpad quality if you purchase the higher end T410s or X201s, some of their lower end models, for example the Thinkpad Edge 14/15, no longer have all of the essential qualities that makes Thinkpad such a standout laptop. However, since most of their models are much less expensive than before, maybe for some people the trade off is worth it.
yeah i had one on my HP DV series; never not ONE time did i ever even try to set that up. all i could see was a headache, and not a lot of computer stuff gives me a headache lol
this is a really cool pc, i have one. i have loads of other things on it and i mess around with the hard drive and i install multiple os's (operating systems) its really cool.
hey i have the same laptop but have no display at all.... when i power on ..... it give beep sounds and nothing show on screen.... blank... what would be the problem... what should i do now..... anyone pleaseeee help.....
hello, How does windows 7 perform on it? I have a T60 and absolutely love it! it's very speedy never slow, boots relatively quick. I setup dual boot as Linux Unbuntu or Xp Pro and I love it! so i wanted to know weather It would perform well with 7? Also could ya give me a estimate on how much it cost to upgrade hard drive? right now i am limited by its small drive :-( Thanks for great video!
@funnbuntv Windows 7 performed great on it, especially if you have more than 2GB of RAM installed. In terms of hard drive upgrade, you can install the WD Scorpio Black hard drive (250GB is about $55 on Newegg), and this will speed up the performance of your laptop if you are still using the original drive, since it's a 7200 rpm drive. Installation is really easy, just clone your drive first with an external USB enclosure, remove one screw, and the pull out the drive tray.
@funnbuntv i think can get windows 7 on the t hinkpad t60, i have one. i have ubuntu and windows xp on mine, but if you want windows 7 as well then you will have to partition the hard drive. you have to get the disc for windows 7, but it has to be for your laptop only. i guess it will cost around 40 pounds to 50 pounds im not sure.
