  • man is this fucking awesome

  • GE Smith was so awesome at this concert. They all were. What a great band, great concert, I'll never get it out of my head and I'm thrilled to find clips here.

  • .. always amazin that a shitty 25 year old videotape can still outdo 99 % of the mobile clips uploaded just yesterday ;) just technically speaking, the content is the biz anyway - so wish I'd been there !

  • @escaton74 Not looking for an argument but mobile manufacturers would make a lot more compromises making phones. Big ginormous cameras always win.

  • Who's the guy in the blazer at 06:12 playing some wicked guitar?

  • Comment removed

  • @mustangdrew G.E Smith

  • imagine your in 1985 and standing in crowd and listening to that music ....music from future

  • the good old 80's, they dont come better than Daryl and John. Those days will never come back again.

  • Which guy is T-bone? Is it the guy wearing the orange ?

  • @mustangdrew Yeah, t-bone's playing bass in the orange jacket and black hat.

  • @mustangdrew T-Bone is the Guy with Black Hat. 2:07

  • WOW check out the WTC in the background starting at 2:18 secs

  • YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

    good song

  • HAHAHAHA! i see my dad in the crowd...

  • I was at this concert.I remember it well.Hall and Oates were fantastic and the tickets were free too.My friends and I got there hours early and we were probably about 200 feet from the stage.Hall and Oates is still one of my favorite bands of all time.

  • I love it.very much!!

    I

  • I listen to this classic tune and I wonder how the hell music turned into the shite they play on the radio today.

  • Robert Plant of the 80s

  • The lead guitarist is G.E Smith - you probably remember him from Saturday Night Live (SNL)

  • Who is the lead guitarist in the red jacket? He looks very familiar but I can't figure out who he is....

  • god damn that was epic hall & fuckin' oates

  • I was there that day. Was VERY hot, but a great weekend.

  • EPIC!

  • MEL GIBSON,NO SORRY, WILLIAM WALLACE SINGING IN 1985?

    JAJAJAJAAAAA

    BRAVESONG!!!

    I LOVE THE 80'S

  • I'm pretty certain I saw this on tv. I loved Hall & Oates years earlier, but kinda got sick of their style by this time. Costumes, hair, and oversinging turned me off.

  • I saw this live on HBO, it was great then as it is now a classic.

  • Orphangames... who else played at that concert?

  • Only Hall & Oates can take an over-produced song and still do it great live.

  • when in high school i remember this song in 84, was amazing!!! every week hits that still play today in clubs, radio...no need to reincarnate and go back in time

  • top of the world baby, top of the world....80s forever

  • Hall and Oates were on top back then. I got turned on to them back in '76 though.

  • God, I love this shit. Daryl, John, T-Bone, and that G.E. are all smooooth!! Looks like one helluva concert, the energy just reaches out and touches you.... especially after all these years. They were and still are great, thanks for posting this for us all to share.

  • @robinthais Yes, you are absolutely right. Very few concerts had the effect on me that theirs did and I've seen alot of big names in the past.

  • The 80's were so wonderful. Hall and Oates on the radio and Ronald Reagan in the White House. Wish we could get back to that.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE so true...my words....

  • this songs great xxx

  • man this is a great song. they actually wrote this song and offered it to tha stlylistics . but tha stylistics producer said u sing it, u have a hit. As an artist, u have to appreciate music like this no matter what kind of music u do.

  • when I was 14 I had fantasies about Daryl that would have sent him to jail if they were fulfilled LOL

  • Holly shit! Look at that mullet and the sideburns!! Lord save me I never thought there were people who looked like that..... Besides justin gayber and the fag bros!

  • This song reminds me of GTA Vice City ~ it has the best songs of GTA series

  • OMG I was at this show. Gary US Bonds opened, then Til' Tuesday and then H&O. Was about 95 degrees with no clouds. Worse thing I remembered was it took 5 hours to get out of the parking lot of Liberty State Park. People were selling 2 liter bottles of warm pepsi and coke for 10 buck a bottle and getting it ! Cold bottles were 15 buck !

  • @orphangames i would have loved it

  • daryl was a rebel back in the days wasnt he lol but now look at him now a chill guy (he was always chill to begin with)

  • damn....what a show....wish I would have been there. Love the look...AND the band! D and H and the 80's was the BEST

  • i love phillyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • daryl hall is an AMAZING and very underrated singer...

  • Daryl sporting the lion look, & skinny as hell, probably taken a wee dab of the white stuff. Embracing the 80's to the max. An all inspiring performance, truly awesome!

  • Daryl's hair was never better!! A year or so before this is was into that Elvis look with the dress shows and the swing-daddy slacks with the funny 50's vests ...then here is was adapting to the 80's fashion for sure.

  • What a july for them. First this concert, then 9 days later they were at Live Aid.

  • I saw hall &oats at the Borgata on Saturday. They were even better then they were in the 8o's ... there band is awesome. We will miss you T-Bone!!!! They have not aged at all. i want some of what they are drinking!!!

  • OMG - THEY ARE HUGE!!!

  • Big, Bam.Boom album : bought it on tape, vinyl...and then CD...

  • Absolutely love it! The best! :)

  • Awesome, I just love the 80s, unbeatable ;)

  • Darryl looks like a lion here. Weird! Such an amazing singer, one of the best.

  • They look amazing here..so much damn soul. They look & sound pretty amazing now & they're in their 60's for Christ sakes!

  • See ya T-Bone. Good job.

  • I can't believe T Bone Wolk is dead. He worked so closely with these guys, and he was an especially integral part of Daryl's latest venture on his Live from Daryl's House website. So sad. RIP.

  • Sorry to hear their long-associated bassist, T-Bone Wolk, just died.

    RIP.

  • If You Want More 80's Music, Check Out My Channel

  • Hall & Oates + Twin towers = Win.

    Fuck Israel.

  • Ha, I love the way Daryl gets out of the chopper and keeps ducking his head as if he's worried about the propellers - bless him! That's what you get for being so tall I guess. Love these guys, they're just brilliant, so underrated in the UK and Daryl was so damn HOT - no one else could get away with those pants! Thanks for posting!

  • Yep!!! When this was shot..they were at the top of the charts...it's a great performance.

  • COOLEST INTRO SONG EVER !!!!!!!!!

So Good I just had to go in tha vault & find the EXTENDED MIX of " Dance On Your Knees " and load it on YouTube .....

  • The opening drums are just groovilicious... Mickey Curry fabulous drummer

  • GROSOOOOOOOOOOO

  • They were absolutely huge when this was taken!!!

  • YES HALL AND OATES

  • MI CUMPLEANOS, WOOOOOO

  • Haha! Hair gel hell! ;-)

  • Yeah Good auftritt Flying in Helicopter to the Konzert Cool.

  • The first 90 seconds of this video are incredibly dull lol...really bad editing if they were trying to convey excitement and anticipation. The performance part itself, though, is excellent...Daryl Hall's voice is insanely perfect live. Lots of energy and damn impressive crowd shots.

  • at 5:11, this drumbeat sounds like "Head To Toe" by Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam

  • Thank you for this video.

  • The energy and excitement in this video is like experiencing a peak moment... what a high life it must be to perform in front of a crowd like this... and the sunset makes it a perfected slice of something extraordinary.

  • Maybe if people like you just sat, chilled the fuck out and listened to songs like this or Everybody wants to rule the world then maybe you would stop caring about yourselves and actually pretend to give a shit about all the other problems the world has been faced with in the past decade or so.

  • Man, I would like to see these guys

perform just one more time. Got all their CDs but never seen them live !!

This sure is a great performance !!

    THey really did rock !!!!!!

  • hi tops, mullet, skinny jeans, shoulder pats.. THAT is what I call STYLE !

    Thank you daryl and john

  • you forgot the sleeveless shirts ;)

    me too love it!!

    very love

  • WOW! Daryl, love the burns! I defy anyone to find 5 more talented people on ANY stage than the boyz that are on this one!

  • Trop fort !!! (too strong !!)

  • Charlie DeChant, G.E. Smith, Daryl Hall, John Oates, Mickey Curry, Tom 'T-Bone' Wolk. Awesome band.

  • Gotta love the excesses of the 80s....given that they lived in Greenwich Village at the time, I wonder if the helicopter was best value fare on offer!

  • Wish they put this on DVD

  • omg... this is great for movie music

  • These guys are seriously great live.

  • Great video ! My home town Jersey City !

Love the areial shots, with the World Trade Center in background.

  • HALL & OATES ROCK!!!!!

  • thanks for posting this, not seen it in years,i use to have it on vhs and i use to watch it while getting ready to go out on the lash in the late 80s,great days.

  • This is fantastic! Only Daryl Hall can have that hairstyle and get away with it. :D

  • This is 80 s at its best H * O still great live, how many hits? Yes loadddddssss , beat the hell out of all these mickey mouse bands now.....

  • I think "Out of touch" it's pretty hard to play live. Anyway, cool stuff!

  • agreed great great show

  • Grateful that you posted this. What a brilliant song. A glimpse of what timeless pop sounds like in any decade. Better yet: listen to "All American Girl" from the same album. Amazing.

    - Joher

  • they seem to play faster live and liven up the songs a bit, which I think is fantastic, because you get two sides of them. It takes a very special talent to be able change the songs in the way that they do, without changing the structure or notes, but to somehow still make it sound different.

  • OMG, the hair, the clothes, I love them!! Hot to the touch haha!

  • GREAT version - love it

  • I've been looking for this version ever since I stupidly recorded over it over 20 years ago. It was on HBO back then. I knew that guitarist from SNL was there. Thanks for posting it.

  • H&O simply sound awsome but the clothes/hairstyles are something else!! Thanks for posting it.

  • I love this show, I think this one was their best!

  • Este debe haber sido su mejor momento....

  • Anyone know if this video is available on DVD? I have a VHS copy .. somewhere .. downstairs in a box, I think. I would like to have a more durable copy on DVD. If anyone knows if one exists, please let me know. You can reach me at: Digital_Guy (at) Hotmail (dot) com (Please include "HALL AND OATES/YOUTUBE RESPONSE" in all capitals as the subject, so that I will recognize the message). In advance, thank you.

  • OMG! There are no words!

Some things are better left unsaid!

This makes my eyes well up!

Thank you so much Dutchmazz....YOU OWN!
