Actually I think it might be. Master Ching Hai has a line of vege dog food available on her merchandise sites. Dogs can thrive on a vegetarian diet as long as they get hearty protein and fats.
Only people who don't really appreciate food are capabable of becoming vegetarians. Our nature drives us to eat meat, but certainly not as much as we currrently consume.
Actually media drives people to eat meat. And the reality is people who don't appreciate their health continue to consume dead animals. Reality becomes a bit distorted on a diet of cruelty and suffering.
