  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I have to say, I am in awe. I've been playing guitar for better than 30 years, and I simply can't touch this. Keep playing, I love hearing you play!

  • some guitar players are just natural born players :D

  • Thanks for your reply. You've only been playing for three years! You are well accomplished. How often and long do you practice and do have the knowledge regarding music as in the tech issues?

  • You learned it by watching, how long did it take. At your level I would guess not long. How long have you been playing. Are you self taught?

  • @buzzfuzz146 It took 1 month to pick out the notes but over a year to perfect. In this video I have not yet perfected it. I have a newer version called "Humoresque II" that I posted and it shows that I add more of the thumb picking and play the notes more clearly. Humoresque was the first Chet Atkins arrangement I learned and I have been playing for 3 years now. Yes, I am self-taught but I have had help with advanced chords from great players.

  • Great playing on a great-looking Gretsch!

  • Супер,хорошо владееш инструментом

  • Happiness.Thank.

  • this is awesome. i started playing guitar very young and my dad had lots of chet atkins records. so thats what i started learning. i don't play too much of it anymore but i love listening to it and watching amazing players keeping chets music alive.

  • Keep on pushing Lindsey. You the best out here! So Smile.

    Love Rose

  • Excelent!!!

  • YOU ARE REALLY GOOD

YOU DONT REALLY SEE GIRLS PLAYING gRETCHES

    CHEERS

  • trop cool^^ you very good!!

  • this is really great chet was one of our favorites..thanks for sharing

  • I have the same guitar, and I believe I enjoy the same playing styles that you do ! :)

  • I love girls who play guitar! (and not just play a few chords and sing along to basic strumming...I mean real playing)

  • chet is loving this song and that sweet gretsch.

  • Wow!!!!

     Go Girl!!!

  • Chet would be proud - 5 *

    -john

  • That's really briliant! Greetings from Czech Republic! ;)

  • You are a great player, Lindsey. I like your music here very much!

  • Bravo, superbe ! *****

  • Bluegrass. Why do you have to be so young and so far away from Maryland. I love your pickin' which was much better that I was at your age. Of course, the electric guitar was just getting started at that time. The biggest name in the countrry was "Pick it out, Billy Byrd". You' are great. I am 79 and still can't do all those things. Because of the deep Merle Travis tone, my guitar sounds a bit better that yours. Mine is a customizefd special with the old-time Joe Maphis pickups.

  • hah, very good! i just did sleepwalk on my 40s gretsch. this is great great!!!

  • sounds like a gretsch with that tone-um your playing is astounding. love to hear u play 'sleepwalk' -santo and johnny on that guitar with ur style

  • Your awesome, not sloppy at all.

  • That guitar and amp combination has a wonderfull sweet sound. Very nice playing. I enjoyed it,

  • A bit sloppy but very nice playing...

  • Awesome! 5 stars!

  • Where did you learn to play this?

  • You're great! Keep playing. This is the video that inspired me to play serious guitar.

  • By video I mean song. And I have the same model guitar by the way.

  • Hello! good playing. U remind me of Emily Remler. ^^

  • I really wanna get the power tabs but i can't find them. You should make an instructional video on how to play! I'd love to learn this song. Great playing good job!

  • wow... very very good ... god gifted ... awesome !

  • very good playing!! love to see somebody young playing this old but nice stuff!!

    rickenbacker´n!

  • What really gets me is how relaxed you really look. You make it look so easy and we all know it isn't!!!

Chet would be so proud of you!!! I wish he were still here with us all so you could play along side of him. If anyone deserves too it would be you!

  • Right on!

  • That did it, I'm buying another Gretsch...

but something reasonable priced at around $700, not one of those $10,000.00 Chet Atkins relic Gretsches.

  • It's so cool to be only 12 and have your own style and such promising skill.

You seem to have fun, too. What else is there to life?

    Keep on "Gretsch'n!"

  • Wish I could do that. Your folks must be very proud.

Thanks for posting I really enjoyed your playing.

  • fantastic!!

  • That is truly great, out of this world! Can anyone teach me how to play that? Or have the tab?

  • I learned this song mostly by watching Chet Atkins on Youtube. He has different versions of this song out here so I tried to put all of them in one. My newer version of this song in my video "Humoresque 2" is a better video to see and learn from because I have improved a few things.

I know you can get the tab out of Fingerstyle Magazine but I haven't been able to find it anywhere else so I mostly learned this by watching Chet's fingers and listening.

    Thanks, Gretsch'n

  • @qinzhi

There are tabs for Humouresque available in ".tef " which is the file form of the TablEdit program. I don't believe that youtube likes web addresses being out so if you would like the tabs, send me a message. FYI - the tabs are very close to the Atkins recording.

  • I about lost it the first time I watched one of your videos assuming you were only about 16 or 17, now I find out your only 13!!, . .how is it possible that such mature poise and ability flows from such a young woman!...I hope you realize you have something that can't be bought.....talent and style!!

  • Look at the Camera and SMILE ! while you play ! You are Great !

  • Fantastic! Great ear and talent.

  • It is a real pleasure for me to watch your videos, Lindsey :-)

    You play so well.

    Is it on a concert?

  • Wow! I'm sure the master would be proud. You've got his sound and style down. Loved it!

  • Wow... really nice stuff. You got it down, ma'am - keep it up!

  • then i think you´re very talented.

    Keep on rockin´!

  • great playin! how long have you been playing the guitar ?

  • The art of playing like Chet Atkins is truly something that needs to be preserved. You're truly gifted and carrying on the torch just fine. Cheers!

  • Canada love you

  • Wow, that is some fantastic playing!

  • Great work on a difficult solo

  • Like your rendition of Humoresque. I have been a long-time disciple of Chet's and thought you might also enjoy some of my tabs on Petite Waltz, Struttin, Vincent and Winter Walkin'(a nice version). Oh yeah, I musn't forget Siboney.

  • You play Humoresque quite well for someone still so young. If you have a copy of Tabledit I can send you my tab results for Vincent, Winter Walkin, Petite Waltz, Struttin and others. Another you might like is Russ Jenkin's 'Ain't Misbehavin' . I am also working on God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Hark the Herald Angels and Deck the Halls -hoping I can get them 100% memorized for Chrismas.

  • fantastic i love this music.

  • I also have a 5120 - Try substituting some TV JONES EM2 pickups for the ones that come with the 5120s, it will make your Gretsch sound like a '59 6120 at a fraction of the cost. Great job as always!5*

  • Thats cool! is it easy to exchange pickups? Thanks for your nice comments!

  • you are a good guitar player!

  • Is that a 5120? Man that sounds just plain cool! :-) great skills too! very good job!

  • Yes, thats a 5120. Its a great guitar for the money! thanks!

  • Hi Really nice playing. Thought you might like a vid response :-) Its not as good as yours but just a bit of fun!

  • you've got talent and play excellently, keep up the great work!

  • awesome!!!!

(it is comment from hardcore Chet Attkins and Gretsch guitars fan)

  • really fantastic! amazing job!

  • wow. never seen a guitarist so young with so much talent. Kids tend to lack soul in their playing too. But you dont! GJ

  • nice playing! you deserve a USA gretsch!

  • Hey thanks! You should see my Humoresque 2.

    Gretsch'n

  • impossible, the nicer ones are made in japan now, havent made em in us for a long time, and those vintage ones are poorly made with substandard neck sets in many cases. Japanese ones are quite good tho

    PS AMAZING PLAYING, super tight

  • ya fantastic!!

  • dude, youre a chick that frickin rocks

  • Hey Bluegrass Forte

You are doing a magnificent job. Keep up the good work. Vernon L. Barber, Owingsville, KY

  • Wish I could do that.... Excellent! *****

  • Wundebarr ! ! ! Muito Maestoso ! ! !

  • Very talented! The pickin is great, your style of the arrangement is sweet. Your demeanor is the most impressive thing on all of your clips. unlike the Guitar hero wanna-bees you are doing it with style and staying humble and true to the music. Doc Watson would be proud!

Grand Ole Opry in the future for you!

  • Excellent, bravo!
