@DJWorth105 She died from heart failure and complications from diabetes, same thing my grandma died from. It's sad, I wish people would take better care of themselves. Even if it's hereditary it's still preventable.

@machasioth i followed mahalia jacksons music im a big fan and she's my inspiration as folks say my found sound simular to hers. she was 61 when she passed in 1972 of heartfailure,diabetes,and sarcoids disease. which caused Ms.Jackson to have the moon face appearence in many of her concerts she passed away in her home at 8358 S Indiana Chicago IL (Evergreen Park IL) she had two services with over 20,000 people who loved her and visited her funeral services in both home towns. buried in Metaire

@soulfullsongbird88 She was only 60 she would have been 61 in october of 72. Although on her grave it is marked that she was born in 1912 she was actually born in 1911.

@blessedover I don't may they thought the fact that she died at 60, that they did not think of her being 61 in october of 72. I've seen a picture in a book with Tommas Andrew Dorsey kneeling down by the grave. The grave is simply mark Mahalia Jackson Gospel singer 1912-1972 but in my research and findings she was born in 1911.
