tigers are much bigger and stronger than lions. look it up. tigers also have longer and more muscular front limbs (they climb in trees), so they have a much larger/stonger swiping advantage. lastly, tigers are solitary animals. They know how to fight alone. It's in their behavioral genome to kill regardless of what other animal is around. and might I just add...tigers are THE SINGLE most PERFECT predator.

There was no submission - mostly all cats fight on their backs. Even a house cat, in playing will flip to its back and try to hold its opponent with their front claws steady enough to F it up with its hind feet.
