I take this train Monday - Friday to get to work in Seattle leaving from Mukilteo. This time of year it is a bit too dark out but Spring, Summer and Fall offer some nice views of the Sound and beaches as the train hugs the coast all the way to Ballard. There is even a shipwreck just south of Mukilteo. The trains are very comfortable too!
Can't beat the views in daylight! I'd been meaning to ride it for the longest time, and finally did going to a Seahawks game a couple Decembers ago (Holmgren's last and Favre's last one as a Jet). Snowed so hard, and was so cold, some of the switches on the track actually froze!
@Jwaffler Im glad you take the train. Its a much better mode of transportation than the car. Sadly, this line only gets 1100 riders per day. Much less than expected by Sound Transit officials and very low for a commuter railroad. Considering the population between Everett and Seattle, its sad more people won't take the train. Also considering the amazing Puget Sound you can see by train but not by car. Your smart though because you do take the train.
Thanks! Glad you liked it. One of my favorite railfanning locations because of the sweeping view of both Puget Sound, and BNSF's right of way. I need a tripod to keep my shots steady though!
that is by far one of the best train vids ever. really beautiful. thanks.

Sound Transit Commuter Rail to and from Seattle. From Everett to the north and from Tacoma being the furthest point south.
