She has an amazing voice, but I think she is far too "loud" with this song. Not volume wise, but dynamic wise if that makes any sense.

Guys, what you don't seem to understand is, this is a poor quality video and the audio is very poor too, I've heard other songs of hayley where professionally shot live versions with proper audio are class compared to the audios in shots by people like us, I'm sure 'THAT' song would have been 50 x better with the actual audio, so stop jumping to conclusions, and ALSO I wish for a clearer video of that because she looks awesome dancing! LOL

The notes in this song have to be light and definitively articulated, and Hayley just doesn't have the voice for that. Though I am a Lynn Hilary fan, this is Meav's song, hands down. I loved the way she added that "pop" to the high notes.

They should have let Meav sing this song because she was fluent in Gaelic . Although Hayley had sung many songs in various languages, it would be hard for her to adjust the Gaelic tongue... Meav was perfect in this song and "She Moved Through The Fair" , surpassing Hayley's version. Don't get me wrong because I love Hayley voice , too. She was fantastic in "Scarborough Fair". Anyway , at least she tried to connect other side of her ancestry ( Hayley is half Dutch and Irish).

I personally prefer Hayley's voice to any of the others. Granted, Meav excells at this, but Hayley's actually has some meat to it.

Hayley did a good job with Scarborough Fair, she did terrible with this song. This is Meav's song, Lynn sang it ok, but no one can sing it like Meav.

Don't you recognize Hayley's voice? As I said before, look to the date of the video upload: 06/26/07. Lynn wasn't yet in the group, she joined CW on October 2007.

@thetreklife I give Hayley credit for trying but really, this is Meav's song because she is way fluent in Gaelic and knows the song like she was born singing it! Meav can pull this off like it is as easy as 1,2,3. However, I do understand that it is not at all as easy as it looks.

I was surprised that Méav Ní Mhaolchatha & Hayley Westenra are listed as "former" members of Celtic Woman. Just a short while back; I was looking up ticket prices. They are coming to my town in May. Now that both singers are gone - I've lost interest. I don't know anything about the girls who will be replacing Hayley and Méav. The local public broadcasting station has membership 'Celtic Woman' tickets - $200.00 for Lawn Seats. Kind of sad, I feel like the wind has been knocked out of me.

When are they going to let Ray Fean have more creative control and use of his production expertise in this performance? I think (or my readings have indicated) that both he and Mairead come out of the Donnal Lunny vein of musical thought, and to me that maybe be the good thing. A willingness to push an envelope while honoring the tradition. Would really like to see more of that!!!

alex sharpe is filling in for lisa while she has her baby. if you get a chance to see Meav live on her solo tour which should be coming up in the spring do it. i saw her 3 times in dec and it was so good.

Meav left CW in sept. she's gone solo now and will be returning to tour the states in either the summer or fall. she did a mini tour through new england in dec and it was awesome. originally she was going to tour this spring, but it got pushed back.

I think the main reason this sounds like a poor job is because of the bad audio quality. It isn't fair to judge based on this, it would be nice if someone had a video with much better quality.

I may be wrong, but I don't even think she's supposed to be humming during that part of the song (22 seconds into the video). Meav was much better, but since she's not available I vote that Mairead should sing the song with her fiddle instead.
