It would often spark a Techno train where some one would pull you into this (chaotic) moving line where at any given moment... it would break up and you would be dancing/raving with complete strangers • Honest™

Also, Mentasm doesnt use this sound in the same way as Dominator does. Dominator has a long stretched out droning sound, while Mentasm twists it about, so how did they 'rip' it? You can't sample a small section from Mentasm to produce the stretched out sound in Dominator...

Beltram is the don and the Beltram mix of this is the best. BTW zZUnofficialGhostZz, this sound was not 'ripped' from Joey Beltram's 'Mentasm'. This sound was a standard sound found on a Juno synthesizer back then. Both 'Mentasm' and 'Dominator' were released on R&S records so perhaps both artist's used the same synth's to produce with.

@ShadesOfRapture Also, there were a ton of tune on the scene in this style/vibe so for people involved in the scene, dancing in warehouses till the sun came up, this was nothing new, but again i'll say, i think its an amazing tune even tho it is a rip off, but then thats how this whole scene was built, by ripping music off

@ShadesOfRapture Only reason it reached a wider audience is cause it made the charts being as it was released later than Mentasm it rode on the wave of exposure acid house etc was getting. Mentasm is from an earlier time when this music was being accused of corrupting kids etc. So, the only reason someone could say this reached a far bigger audience is cause they were a pop listener till they discovered this, people on the scene thought this was a rip off, although good

Oh and before you try that classic 'i been into this music for x years' i've been into this music since it was brought over as Chicago house in the mid 80's...

@zZUnofficialGhostZz This was not a 'rip' from Mentasm. It is the same patch on the Roland Alpha Juno (Juno I or Juno II) sequenced in a different way. It is layered with a matching sub bassline to make it nice and phat. This was the [MUCH] bigger anthem of the two tracks. It was common practice back in that day to try and make duplicate sound-a-like tracks. Good spinoffs include 'Who Killed JFK?' and 'Who Is Elvis?'.

Absolutely f@ckin rockin tune, ripped it up back in '91, and totally outdid the original mix to my mind... Remember bein in my fav club Tootos (just outside Colchester Essex), and this was the sort of tune where you might be mashed up in a corner somewhere, or talkin' bollox to your new best mate in the toilets, you'd hear it come on and literally leg it to the dance floor to be part of the mayhem.... It wasn't just me was it? Nah, heh heh...
