I played today, trying to FINALLY get it thru, but got stuck in level two. Damn, modern games are so easy! The old games were extremely challenging.

Back then, we were kids, had a lot of free time to play games, to try and try and try again, and then finally, after a hundred or thousand of retries, finally beating it.

Now it is even hard to dedicate two hours a day to games, and the games are made shorter and easier.

That is one factor, yes.

Another might be the ability to save. Get stuck on something, you can return to it later. Back then you had to complete a game in one sitting.

So I wouldn't say the games today are shorter. Easier, definitely, but not shorter. There are games that span dozens if not hundreds of hours in total game time. My personal record (longest game) would be Paper Mario 2 as 92 hours.

Prolly gonna sound like a total dumbass here, but here it goes...(apologies!) Only recently have I noticed the overwhelming abundance of metal music in old nintendo games....pretty cool! And the riffs are quality...its funny listening to a midi file and then transposing it to a loud guitar...epic!
