That station meant so much to those who followed it and not in an idealized sense. I am so happy someone told this story as one of the last stations to hold out to media consolidation and represent a true independent voice in FM mainstream radio. I will always miss 107.9 The End.

i discovered R.E.M. because of that stunt. and they're still my favorite band to this day!
