this is just too funny. he's like 16 years ahaead of the curve and does anyone have any idea wtf hes jabbing about? no, only his fish and statue. and is beautiful is wise.
Larry Ellison was so spot on. I mean this video was created like 15 years ago and he was already talking about shit that is only now being fully realized. What a visionary.
Already happening. Its called the iPad. Thats the "device". Now Apple is gearing up cloud computing; and it will be the next step. BTW; you can already access large databases of storage on the pad; without it having to have a large hard drive. Mobile Me; Google Docs, Stay tuned...
there is only one problem with larry ellisons view about microsoft how much money has oracle or larry given to aids and all other charitys to help heal the world
there's a problem with gates charities as well; he discriminates against recievers that don't choose windows. so it's NOT charity, it's bribery and colonization of 3rd world future windows payers.
The majority of the grants the Gates Foundation give out are for global health that has no strings attached to what computuers are used (Considering %90-%95 of all world desktops are Windows anyway).
@subway394 why are you making up stupid strawmen? I'm talking about kids recieving superior linux distros so the money can be spent on i dont know; things like FOOD and the hardware-infrastructure itself
I hate the PC as well. However, a thin client is not the solution since people like to have their own data. Also, there are other things like PDA's, burning DVD's, and other stuff that the thin client cannot support.
I like Larry ellison and Steve jobs. They are the only ones who understand the market...

He is talking about Cloud computing which was already there then in mid-90s, but "termed" differently.

@newmac still runs a hefty, unrelenting, unaccomodating OS. Larry wants something with even more flexibilty

If a charity will buy a $1500 mac pro instead of a $400 dollar PC, then I will never ever give a shit about that charity.
