I've been in real fights before and I've used JuJitsu whenever I was taken to the ground since I've joined the Army and I've always been successful, but i still would like to attend the Roy Dean Academy so i could really grow as a student of JuJitsu.......I kind of wish i studied JuJitsu in High School rather than just wrestle on the ground until someone broke up the fight.....lol
This is a great school...Roy Dean is an awesome instructor with an awesome program under Roy Harris....I train in JuJitsu with the army more for combat situations than BJJ style and i have an awesome instructor as well as awesome training partners, but the Roy Dean Academy seems to be the real deal and I always watch the videos because I live too far away to attend the Academy, but I promote the Roy Dean Academy to all my fellow soldiers that live near the Academy.
This is a good teaher, he doesn't mind being taped out. Its obvious he's rolling very easy to allow the student to demonstrate technique. He could easily tap this guy out in 10 seconds.
Hi my Friend! I still remember about You! I try to learn from DVD set, I have finished my small Dojo in my house but I still have a LOT of work. It is nice to see that Your school is grooving up. I see many new white belts and new blue ones!! Take Care stay safe!! Peter
Exactly. Also, by the time Roy is rolling with them, the student has been sparring for >15 minutes straight and is pretty exhausted. Roy will give them openings in order to see if a) they recognize the opportunity; and b) whether they are still mentally in the fight. It guages the technical level and the fighting spirit of the student.
Your belt exams seems really classy and very thorough... and especially more fun then to just get promoted automaticly after a few wins in competitions. :)

Good demonstration of technique and professionalism by all. The techniques of this white belt makes some BJJ blue belts I've seen look a bit weak. ;)

I've ran out of compliments about the work of Master Dean.
Primo as always. I listen to this tune from his music CD during workouts... outstanding.

yes, I'm pretty sure he was making mistakes on purpose to see if the student would pick up on them. It a good way to gauge the students progress.
