Taylor might have been able to make it before the season Carrie was on, but when you hear what a real country singer is like, its quite obvious Taylor isn't one of them. She has good lyrics and she's really sweet and I really like her voice, but live she's not that great...

Carrie is obviously a better singer than Taylor, we all know that. In fact, I listened to Carrie's music way before I even knew Taylor existed. Yet why is it that Taylor's become 10x more popular than Carrie? I think it's because when Carrie sings, she has great vocals but she sounds empty. Taylor sings with emotion which is endearing and makes everyone fall in love with her. It's like you feel her pain when she's singing. That's one quality you can't fake, it has to be real and from the heart.
I am a beautiful young lady who has done well in my life so far, and If I would have followed my dream and worked hard at it I would have been just as successful... So no, you're wrong I'm not jealous of a teenager who looks like a poodle with a bad do and couldn't sing live and sound good to save her life. I have anger towards her for winning things that other artists desearve more than her.... But than again you can't help people that are tone deaf and have bad taste...

I'm sorry but I don't know you can sense any emotion from Taylor's songs. I've heard my share of those to know that her songs are very void. Flipping her hair around when she sings angry songs doesn't communicate anything. The only time that I actually caught emotions from a Taylor Swift recording was when I heard White Horse which is a very good vocal track. But even on that song live, while failing terribly at singing she also doesn't give off any emotion at all.

Taylor might have been able to make it before the season Carrie was on, but when you hear what a real country singer is like, its quite obvious Taylor isn't one of them. She has good lyrics and she's really sweet and I really like her voice, but live she's not that great...

I think Taylor is incredibly talented....as a songwriter. I am much older than her, but even I love her songs. The problem is, she is not a very good live singer.

Carrie is obviously a better singer than Taylor, we all know that. In fact, I listened to Carrie's music way before I even knew Taylor existed. Yet why is it that Taylor's become 10x more popular than Carrie? I think it's because when Carrie sings, she has great vocals but she sounds empty. Taylor sings with emotion which is endearing and makes everyone fall in love with her. It's like you feel her pain when she's singing. That's one quality you can't fake, it has to be real and from the heart.

I am a beautiful young lady who has done well in my life so far, and If I would have followed my dream and worked hard at it I would have been just as successful... So no, you're wrong I'm not jealous of a teenager who looks like a poodle with a bad do and couldn't sing live and sound good to save her life. I have anger towards her for winning things that other artists desearve more than her.... But than again you can't help people that are tone deaf and have bad taste...

Haha....like I said, a lot of people are bitter about the fact that Taylor Swift has it all: she has good looks (you may not agree but 90% of the world use the words "gorgeous" or "beautiful" in any sentence about her, she is making millions of dollars, she has been recognized as a talented singer and songwriter, and she's enjoyed incredible success. It's official, she is unstoppable. Keep hating...I love watching people get all angry and jealous over celebrities. Hilarious :)

I'm sorry but I don't know you can sense any emotion from Taylor's songs. I've heard my share of those to know that her songs are very void. Flipping her hair around when she sings angry songs doesn't communicate anything. The only time that I actually caught emotions from a Taylor Swift recording was when I heard White Horse which is a very good vocal track. But even on that song live, while failing terribly at singing she also doesn't give off any emotion at all.

why is everyone all about this american idol b.s.? american idol is an insult to anyone who loves music. it is a glorified karaoke competition. carrie underwood is cute & she sings well, but behind those pretty eyes lies a void. music is about creativity, expression, & creation in general. if you see music as a karaoke competition, you have completely missed the point....in that case, you get what you deserve: fake stars who care nothing for the work & care everything for their next cheque.

funny how someone whose voice may induce a stroke has the nards to criticize anyone...i cant stand country (exception of the old stuff), but i have time for anyone who is real & talented. Taylor is both. If she has failings in her performances, she has time to work on it. I'm not suggesting that no one should criticize her ...but, she's the best thing to happen to this dated & largely irrelevant genre. i cant stand pop either, but i keep an open mind & i suggest that everyone else do the same..

Do you know how many girls sing like Taylor? She has average vocals. There are so many other girls out there who deserve to be in the spotlight based on their singing. Taylor has the light on her and she is not even a above-average singer. I believe you have to be a above-average singer to be a signed artist. It's just a matter of fairness. Why is Taylor famous if she can't hold her own against other singers vocally. To the point, she doesn't have any qualities that make her stand out vocally.
