houstone29 ( better then this rap and hip hop garbage... whats the use in that smuck.. 50, 60, 70, 80's where best music era.. not this year 2000 shite..
hey, taklbox, 60´s music is no less than absolutely great, inventive and inspirational, and particularly the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson were one of the truly greatest. THIS is shit, no doubt about it. I don´t even know how this man has the nerve to still call his bands the Beach Boys, and even sue his former bandmates for daring to use the "mark" as well. This perverts everything good the Beach Boys stood for. I agree, it´s a charade. Long live the Beach Boys. Miss you Dennis and Carl.
hey "housstone29" ur fuckin stupid if you dont like this music. i grew up listening to all the 60's music like the BEACH BOYS,the ventures, dick dale, the dupress, etc. and guess what IM ONLY 18!!! so if u dont like it then dont watch it and dont make shitty comments like that!
Rolling Stone magazine released their list of the top 100 artists of all time (not too long ago). The Beach Boy were ranked at #12. Who - of the originals - is this band made up of other than Mike Love? Dennis and Carl are dead. I take it Brian Wilson is not part of the band? What about Al Jardine? Anyone know?
Mike Love and Bruce Johnstone are the only originals still "peddling" the Beach Boys name. Al Jardine fell foul of Love and was removed. Al was recently performing with Brian on tour
This is a disgusting presentation of what was once a great American band. There should be a presidential order prohibiting mike love from touring under the name "Beach Boys". Even if it takes the national guard to smash his little revolt.
At this point they are either doing it for the money or the fun of it. Theirs was a sound, so people in future generations will come to hear the sound. Perhaps at this point they should be called the Beach Men, they get outdone by Brian Wilson and his band.
Comprehensible, if you only have this video to watch. But, believe it or not, from the mid-60ies to the early 70 the BB were one of the most artistically advanced bands! And, by the way, the BBs minor the Wilson Brothers is a Mike Love band: and that really sucks!
I agree...Nice tribute band ..but a tribute band....Too bad we cannot form a class action suit from using the name again until Brian and Al are back in the fold
A class action would be nice but Mike Love and Bruce Johnston leased the rights to the name from Brother Records in order to continue to officially tour as The Beach Boys. The three original surviving members--Love, Wilson and Jardine--each own a share of the Beach Boys corporation, Brother Records.
Jardine tried touring under the name "Beach Boys Family and Friends" with Brian Wilson's daughters Wendy and Carnie, but an appeals court barred him from doing so.)
Actually..Mike owns the "name" and bought it from the surviving members and estates years ago. I am sure they get the cut of the concert gross. That is why the only way out of this insainity is a class action by the fans.!!!
While I was waiting to see Steely Dan at Mohegan Sun about a month ago, they were showing upcoming acts on the screens. Seeing the BB listed as an upcoming act was sickening. Maybe a class action is the answer; certainly, CA is the state for class actions. I hear the BW concerts have been excellent. In NJ, they played for 3 hours--hits plus Pet Sounds. (When I saw BB in the 70's, they played for 80 minutes & Brian & Dennis weren't there. My favorite live performance is the Knebworth DVD.
Following is the most recent case on the issue: Brother Records, Inc. v. Jardine, 318 F.3d 900, 2003 U.S.App.LEXIS 1335 (9th Cir. 2003) It says Love leased the name and Brother sued Jardine. I'm going to send you a message with more details.
The following are the cases for anyone who wants to read them: 1. Jardine v. Brother Records, Inc., SUPREME COURT OF THE US, 540 U.S. 824;October 6, 2003, Decided 2. Brother Records, Inc. v. Jardine, NINTH CIRCUIT, 432 F.3d 939; Argued and Submitted, Pasadena, California , December 19, 2005, Filed 3. Brother Records v. Jardine, NINTH CIRCUIT, 318 F.3d 900; 2003, 862, November 6, 2002, US Supreme Court certiorari denied.

Beach Boys are the Wilson brothers, Mike Love and Al Jardine. Even Bruce Johnstone was a late comer to the original group. This is a rip off band.

It isn't The Platters!
It's from Eugene Dixon (aka Gene Chandler), member of The Dukays.

I wonder why Bruce moved out of the way for John's solo, unless he was doing it to specifically accomadate the person filming this.
