hey, taklbox, 60´s music is no less than absolutely great, inventive and inspirational, and particularly the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson were one of the truly greatest. THIS is shit, no doubt about it. I don´t even know how this man has the nerve to still call his bands the Beach Boys, and even sue his former bandmates for daring to use the "mark" as well. Rolling Stone magazine released their list of the top 100 artists of all time (not too long ago). The Beach Boy were ranked at #12. Who - of the originals - is this band made up of other than Mike Love? Dennis and Carl are dead. I take it Brian Wilson is not part of the band? What about Al Jardine? Anyone know?

Comprehensible, if you only have this video to watch. But, believe it or not, from the mid-60ies to the early 70 the BB were one of the most artistically advanced bands! And, by the way, the BBs minor the Wilson Brothers is a Mike Love band: and that really sucks!

A class action would be nice but Mike Love and Bruce Johnston leased the rights to the name from Brother Records in order to continue to officially tour as The Beach Boys. The three original surviving members--Love, Wilson and Jardine--each own a share of the Beach Boys corporation, Brother Records.

Jardine tried touring under the name "Beach Boys Family and Friends" with Brian Wilson's daughters Wendy and Carnie, but an appeals court barred him from doing so.)

Actually..Mike owns the "name" and bought it from the surviving members and estates years ago. I am sure they get the cut of the concert gross. That is why the only way out of this insainity is a class action by the fans.!!!

While I was waiting to see Steely Dan at Mohegan Sun about a month ago, they were showing upcoming acts on the screens. Seeing the BB listed as an upcoming act was sickening. Maybe a class action is the answer; certainly, CA is the state for class actions. I hear the BW concerts have been excellent. In NJ, they played for 3 hours--hits plus Pet Sounds. (When I saw BB in the 70's, they played for 80 minutes & Brian & Dennis weren't there. My favorite live performance is the Knebworth DVD.
