MJ, great an artist as he was, was an unwilling victim of his own fame, as many celebrities were. He had a great career, but not a great life. He looked happy with his kids but never with himself even at a young age. Vitiligo can't be helped, but plastic surgery is addictive as drugs. Even his mother said she believed he was addicted & personally asked his doctor to stop the surgery's. Doesn't mean MJ was bad, he just didn't know how to stop. Fame is great, but too much of of anything is bad.

I can think of no one who could have survived a day of MJ's life as well as he did. Now of course many of Elvis sales are after he died 35 yrs ago, but in life or death, Elvis is the #1 best selling "single artist and the #2 act.

History will tell; Michael Jackson was the single most successful performer of this century or any other. He has no equal.

Elvis had 22 or 23 studio records. MJ had 10 studio records and 26 total with his brothers. However, Elvis also had 19 or 20 sountrack albums. Many were not successful, but he did have multiple sountracks certified platinum & gold. Like I said I'm an MJ fan, but you can't deny the figures. It can all be looked up.

MJ, great an artist as he was, was an unwilling victim of his own fame, as many celebrities were. He had a great career, but not a great life. He looked happy with his kids but never with himself even at a young age. Vitiligo can't be helped, but plastic surgery is addictive as drugs. Even his mother said she believed he was addicted & personally asked his doctor to stop the surgery's. Doesn't mean MJ was bad, he just didn't know how to stop. Fame is great, but too much of of anything is bad.

@Chon123100 2) W/his legacy & the leverage of the catalogs, he could have done anything else he wanted other than a huge tour, or selling an "album/CD" at a level the music industry will likely never see again.I wanted him to do other things; he'd been there, done that w/tours & huge venues. I can't imagine his larger than life, electrifying performances being replicated in a "Vegas" venue, but there was much more for him, as a performer,creative artist,& at last; a human being. .

@MyAngel2221 My previous comments had nothing to do with "all the millions who did not appreciate the exploitation of him" "This Is It", "MJ not having anything to prove" or MJ being "bullied" or "broke". It was just the very simple fact that while he has the biggest selling album, he is not the biggest selling artist living or dead. I didn't make up the facts, I'm just stating the facts as they are. Not a big deal to me whether Elvis, The Beatles, MJ or Tito are the biggest sellers.

@Chon123100 I merely expressed my own thoughts on the matter; they were not intended to change, restate, or argue with yours. Who is the "biggest seller" is of no matter or interest to me. However at this point in time, it is yet to be determined who WILL be the "biggest" selling; that's a very, "yet to be determined" issue. My statement on that was that time will tell. I'm disinclined to argue any point about it as It is not a priority to me in my admiration or appreciation of MJ.

He could have opted for a darker color, he intentionally wanted the lighter option to look white, he hated being black maybe because of his father i dont give a fuck why.. the guy wanted to be white.. thats a fact.. the white skin the white man's nose the white kid he adopted.. just stfu and admit it. The bitch who did the bleaching was paid to say it was easier to go white when the real experts said it would have been much easier to pick a darker tone to cover the spots.

Depite MJ's sales and the individual success of Thriller, The Beatles overall are the #1 total top-selling "act" of all time with over a Billion sold worldwide. Elvis is close at #2 also with a biliion sold WW & MJ is 3rd with 750 sold WW. Now of course many of Elvis sales are after he died 35 yrs ago, but in life or death, Elvis is the #1 best selling "single artist and the #2 act.

@Chon123100 I know all about the figures as I'm a musician. As you mention, time is a factor in the sales of EP; he does not have younger fans, & that will make a difference sooner than later. I have met Michael Jackson fans from 7 yrs to 70. There is absolutely no one else with this kind of universal following or w/a lifetime as a performer, spanning nearly 50 years. History will tell; Michael Jackson was the single most successful performer of this century or any other. He has no equal.

@MyAngel2221 I've never paid much attention to Elvis either, or the Beatles to be honest. But despite MJ's current "universal appeal", that doesn't always turn into sales. The "Michael" album barely sold and that new "Immortal" album has flopped, only sold 45,000 in week one. Elvis has done well after death not just b/c of time or his talent, but b/c the right ppl in the estate are reinventing & promoting his material. Despite whatever huge record deal MJ's estate made, you have to sell records.

@Chon123100 The record industry has changed so much in recent years; no comparison can be made to what it was & MJ could have done much more than "sell records" had he lived.Michael owned both EP & the Beatle's Catalog; this was more leverage financially; & much more viable today than selling "records". A good business man, he was an innocent as any true artist must be;he could be made to feel vulnerable (AEG) Immortal,a S track 4 Cirque Du Soliel & 'Michael' were not released by MJ

@MyAngel2221 I believe you are correct in saying MJ wrote more songs, but Elvis acually put out many more records while even alive than MJ, the J5 and the Jacksons group put together. Elvis had 22 or 23 studio records. MJ had 10 studio records and 26 total with his brothers. However, Elvis also had 19 or 20 sountrack albums. Many were not successful, but he did have multiple sountracks certified platinum & gold. Like I said I'm an MJ fan, but you can't deny the figures. It can all be looked up.

@MyAngel2221 Thriller is the biggest selling album of all time. Elvis didn't have a single individual album that outsold Off The Wall, Bad, Dangerous or History let alone Thriller (in the U.S.). The Beatles did have a couple that individually outsold the previous mentioned, but not Thriller. However, despite MJ's incredible onstage persona, Thriller being #1, videos, fans & big album success, dollar for dollar, I'd rather own Elvis & Beatles estates and their money & "overall" finance success.

@Chon123100 The Michael Jackson estate signed the biggest recordng/performance agreement in music history, even after MJ's passing, history will tell everything- and history will agree MJ has no equal - on any level. I have never paid much attention to Elvis, he was definitely of a certain era only. He just held little to no interest for me. I have every recording the Beatles ever made, & they are timeless; Michael Jackson has more on many levels than both.
