  • this vids been on youtube since 2008 and has 3 dislikes....thats 1 dislike per year. good job, streetlight.

  • Comment removed

  • I like how they make almost 'followup' songs , i.e Everything Goes Numb to 9mm -> 9mm and a Three Piece Suit and Point/Counterpoint -> Keasbey Nights

  • What, did they realize Keasbey Nights was the best album ever and redo the whole thing with their new band?

  • @ShabbySho2unes Tomas Kalnoky, the lead singer of Catch 22 when it recorded Keasbey Nights, wrote all of the songs on the album. When he left Catch 22 and started his new band, Streetlight Manifesto, he decided to redo the whole album... Which is in his right since he wrote all the songs in the first place.

And yes, it is the best album ever.

  • wtf did just happened???

  • i can't pinpoint what exactly it is, but every time i listen to streetlight i just feel so much better about myself and everything in the world. i may be a supernothing going no where fast, but i don't care. it'll all work out in the end.

  • @backoffpunk95 If you listen to Streetlight, then you must be doing something right.

  • @backoffpunk95 you may be a supernothing but arent we all? :D as long as you enjoy yourself who cares eh?

  • @backoffpunk95 And that my freind, is what ska is all about. Realizing the world sucks and saying "fuck it" anyways. :D

  • i can't pinpoint what exactly it is, but every time i listen to streetlight i just feel so much better about myself and everything in the world. i may be a supernothing going no where fast, but i don't care. it'll all work out in the end.

  • /watch?v=8gUgruSrkgg

  • EARGASM!!!!!!!

  • seeing streetlight tomorrow at starland ballroom .. so amped

  • @AdamScP1220 duuude same im pumped out of my mind. reel big fish is gonna be sick as hell too.

  • @goosetuff79 i saw them a couple weeks in chicago, i love streetlight but i have to admit that rbf performed better

  • @eman1alv Their play the tightest live songs. like fuckin ska robots

  • @AdamScP1220 Dude, I WAS THERE. WHAT AN AMAZING CONCERT

  • @AdamScP1220 was at the show....rbf didnt do it for me, but its cuz i havent listened to them in a dogs age, but fucking streetlight was amazing!

  • @AdamScP1220 They were so amazing at croc rock

  • long live ska, reggae, and rock

  • i was just at their show it was streetlight reel big fish the maxies and some crappy band from indiana

  • @RDBeatnik

i thought that joke was slightly skamusing. :)

  • Come this time monday... Streetlight, myself, my friends, and tons of strangers all crammed into a downtown venue. Yes.

  • @JenkinzFilmz

that was me last friday.... played with reel big fish...skamazing

  • Ska is skamazing... I apologize for that shitty joke.

  • @RDBeatnik *skapologize

  • 1: 21 ... WOW

  • this is actually a Catch 22 song

  • @conn1515 did you not pay attention to the photo in the vid or are you just trolling..

  • @conn1515 this is the SM version. catch 22 and SM have a lot of the same songs, just their own versions. when you listen to them both, you'll see the difference. idk who originally created them all though...

  • @nickhawkman Catch and Streetlight only have 1 cd that are the same. Tom was in Catch and recorded this cd with them. When he left and started Streetlight he heard they were going to re-release Keasby so he just offered to re-record it with Streetlight instead because he thought sonically the old one was shit

  • @mohawk1020 haha gotcha. thanks dude!

  • 2 people don't own a 9mm or a three piece suit.

  • @Crippleshot13

Streetlight Manifesto is a reincarnation of Catch 22, look it up. Almost the same exact band members.

  • i guess 1 person hasnt seen them live

  • 1 dislike wtf who would dislike this?

  • I'm not 100% sure but I think this is the shortest streetlight song lol

  • steve took 2-4 heather took more

she lit a cigeratte and now their walking out the door

with a semi-automatic and ski mask on

they look to one another and they say to themselves

    "ohh what fun"

  • wtf is ska

  • @LegitBoarding Ska is a genetic disease that slowly eats away at your intelligence. There is only one cure known to man: crack rocks. You have to eat crack rocks. Eat the crack rocks. Eat crack. EAT...fatty....

  • this is THE BEST song to skank too, hands down.

  • Wow, somebody had to hate, oh well. You know what they say, "Haters gonna hate"

  • This song's too short bro.

  • whos the one ass hole you disliked

  • anybody know what this song is about?

  • @grounded103 a robbery

  • why do you scene fags always argue cant you just like the music for what it is? who gives a fuck about when punk started and what wave of ska this is its good ass music and thats all that matters

  • This Punk and the "Punk" of 1964 was completely different....

The Ska of the 50s and the Ska of pre-British punk (Mod Scene) wasn't different at all. It was still 1st-wave ska.

  • i love the energy of 3rd wave ska

  • Wish this was a 10:00 minute song.

  • @Allcommentsappreciat me 2, thats the best part about Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd, and the worst part about punk/ska!

  • so red and blue spy have 3 piece suits?

  • hate to break it to you... Streetlight isn't a Ska band.. they are majorly influenced by Ska thou.. words from Tomas himself

  • @Deadend545 not ska, that's cool. still one of the greatest bands ever. if not the best ever

  • @Deadend545 depends what you consider ska. a lot of people think it is just punk with trumpets and shit but its really the upbeat of the guitar that makes it ska. a lot of streetlights songs have this (though a lot of the time they do it incredibly fast) which would categorize them as ska. but call it what you want they still kick ass. :D

  • @9inchelectriclamb short upstroke on 2 and 4, muted down 1 and 3... walking baseline. sometimes brass... that is ska. it predates punk by decades.

  • @jbgandhi2 im pretty sure ska hasnt been around as long as punk... 1974 i believe was when punk first started.

  • @T0KIWARTOOTH I'm pretty sure you don't know what you are talking about. Ska started in the late 50s, and was the predecessor of both rocksteady and reggae. It was influential in the pre-punk scene in the UK in the 60s.

  • @jbgandhi2 this ska and the "ska" of the 50s was completely different... but im sure you are gonna try to sugar coat a reply with all kinds of bullshit.. but whatever your little heart believes is true. whatever helps you sleep at night.

  • @T0KIWARTOOTH lol who gives a shit?

  • @T0KIWARTOOTH ska was around way before punk haha!

  • @zosothedestroyer actually

    punk created ska.

  • @CWalker4Real alright troll, whatever you say bud

  • @CWalker4Real

    No.

Ska was originally a form of Reggae.

  • @JakeJustLaughs

Correction, Reggae was originally a form of Ska.

  • @Youtubican

Oh shit. Lol. I meant that. Just typed it wrong. xD

  • @Youtubican no I think you've got it backwards, reggae came first, and then parts of rock and jazz were added to it and ska was born

  • @ihappy1

Nope, Ska definitely came before reggae. It was a combination of Carribean Mento, Calypso, American Jazz, and Rhythm and Blues.

Reggae was 1960s, Ska was 1950s.

  • @ihappy1 actually ska came first, the original ska was invented by the bob marley, Lord Creator, Jimmy Cliff, and Winston Samuels as was shown on their record The Real Jamaica Ska Cd, which was recorded in 1964. Ska was born out of Jamaica, and is jamaicas actual music, so i am sorry ihappy1, you have it backwards

  • @CWalker4Real but without reggae, punk wouldn't knw what to create hhh

  • @CWalker4Real wrong...... ska started getting closer to punk during the second wave.... but its ok lol

  • @CWalker4Real wrong...... ska started getting closer to punk during the second wave of ska like in the eighties while ska was actually created before reggae. there was a summer in jamaica when they slowed down ska and turned up the bass making reggae or something along those lines but it definitely was not originated from punk.... but its ok lol

  • I fucking love ska

  • Every instrument in this song is cookin start to finish.

  • Is it just me or do you hear a crow in the brief pause between 0:02 and 0:03?

  • @sks2795 yea i hear it

  • @sks2795 yeah i hear it but its prbly just one of the members going WAAA!!

  • Thank you for uploading all of these, you're the best

  • @SikNut37 The story behind it was that Kalnoky wrote the songs, but didn't want Catch to rerelease Keasbey and mess it up; if you listen to 1234 1234 on the SM version, he explains that this time around, he went in to record it "how it should have sounded". Besides, Catch slowly went down the shitter after Kalnoky left

  • 0:04

    "waaah!"

  • @chiunit11 Haha!!! thank you for pointing that out!

  • Streetlight = Real Punk

Green Day = Your 90 year old grandmothers idea of a good time

  • @Animeoverlord00 your grandmas idea of fun is getting high all day? what a chill granny!

  • @Animeoverlord00 Streetlight is more their own genre, in my opinion. Its like third-wave ska but with more punk and even more jazz influence. And funny enough, they dont really listen to any ska anymore.

  • I'm soo stiff right now

  • Father, I have sinned...I just realized I've been ignoring the bass part until now...

  • @plextwoem The rhythm section makes this band. Bassist and drummer are unreal

  • @plextwoem bass part is amazing!

  • @plextwoem your penance.....listen to streetlight for the next three hours!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @plextwoem This is a grave sin my son.

  • Those who "unliked" this, deserve to get the whole brass sections shoved up their anal canal.

  • @EEE51993 Brass raped!

  • catch rocks more in this version, word.

  • @MrCleanisdefeated Kalnoky WAS Catch. Since he's gone, it has no meaning.

  • i really like the catch 22 version of this more...it sounds alot more raw. other than that this album is alot cleaner

  • @REDGuerrilla92

yeah this song is so bad ass and i like the whole grittiness that you can hear in the catch 22 version.

  • its a funny thing how one person can prefer some thing over another, odd how personalities and shit are.

  • Oh, and as a note, this sounds 'cleaner' whereas the Catch 22 one sounds 'messier'. I prefer this one but it's all a matter of taste

  • the drummer tapping his drumsticks together at the beginning reminds me of 'watch it crash'

  • Comment removed

  • Ska is amazing. Enough said.

  • @marinecorpshopeful Thats really all that needs to be said.

  • oh and like how come catch 22 and streetlight have like all the same songs. whos been making the songs first?

  • Well, when Tom was in Catch he wrote Keasbey Nights, then Tom with Streetlight re- did it

  • the main guy from catch 22 remade their album "keasby nights"

  • @luneyman5 just cuz someone made the song first doesnt mean it was better >.> :D

  • dude catch 22's version of this song sounds the same as streetlights in the begining haha cause of the vocals. but like i like streetlights version better. catch 22's version is awesome tooo though

  • Man, I love ska. I have no special facts or trivia, all i can say is that this stuff is amazing. One of my fav ska bands if not the best in my opinion.

  • Yeah, on the Streetlight website Tom said that if anyone could name the 5th and 6th sample they posted, he would give them Chris Thatcher, the drummer. If only I knew that stuff.

  • yeah hes that powerful. He can give people to other people

  • I know. Him and Chuck Norris would be one of the most powerful tag teams there is. No wait. Chuck Norris alone is the most powerful tag team. If Tom Kal helped him out... I'll just let that sink in.

  • Oh my god, thats..... uun- fathomable. I am not worthy to even think that thought. They should tag against Jesus and Mohammed, they would kick ass.

  • @SikNut37 This band is some of Catch 22 , but there is other guys in this band. They were with a band called, One Cool Guy "OCG" both rocking the NJ Ska scene. Check the out

  • Comment removed

  • @SikNut37 your joking right?

  • Considering the same guy wrote both songs, and SINGS both songs, and formed both bands... well... yeah.

  • Fail, the songs are streetlights lead vocals, and so is the album.

  • your an idiot. streetlight basically IS catch 22

  • nice!

    Heather took more.....

  • not to say this version is bad, but i actually like that the other version of this song wasnt as "clean". idk i guess it sounds weird hearing it with a clean sound. anyone agree?

  • @fernacheese yea, the 2 bands have a different tone/sound so some of the songs sound a bit weird to mee too.

  • for some reason, the intro reminds me of RBF... anyone else hear it?

  • not really. maybe if they had a goofy intro, then i could

  • just the horn section from like 0:04 to 0:10...

  • DEF.

  • nah. not at all. theyre both ska but i dont think they sound at all alike. streetlight is much deeper in their music and while rbf is more so happy

  • yeah, they do have different styles but for like 5 seconds they sounded alike.

  • Reel Big Fish and streetlight manifesto are both ska and have toured together many times.

  • ... okay?

  • catch definately did this one better. this is an energy song and streetlight is more about its intricacy or however the hell u spell it

  • Well since Tom is a perfectionist and he did "want to get it right this time", it will obviously sound a bit more "intricate" instead of full of energy like when he was in Catch 22.

  • there are only a few groups that use the bari sax but are there any that use the tuba, besides TSPO?

  • ahahaha... you homo blink 182 fans. They are total powers, much as you! Go get a Vandals CD.... listen and grow the fuck up/...

  • dude fuck you the vandals are terrible... blink has way more talent than they will ever have.... mabe not so much any more but blinks first 4 cds are amazing.. so shut the fuck up... and just i listen to blink 182 doesnt mean i dont lisnten to other punk rock.

  • Blink isn't even Punk Rock. It mutated to pop-punk a long time ago....

  • ya i know i usually only listen to blinks first 4 albums their last two were not that great, but i aslo listen to other punk rock bands like operation ivy, Rancid, nofx, greenday, sum 41, screeching weasel, pennywise, smutt peddlers, transpants, gimp, catch 22, and streetlights like my favorite band. (along with blink 182) and thats just the punk bands i listen to, i listen to alot other music too like expendables, rush, led zepplen, bloodhound gang, the chili peppers, sublime, and many more....

  • sorry to tell you but streetlight manifesto and catch 22 are ska

  • word

  • some people really need to get over themselves

  • Eh... first it's Tomas* Kalnoky... anyway I like SM's versions of all of Keasby Nights better, the background vocals just seem cleaner.

On top of that Catch 22 keep talking trash about Tomas because he left them to go to college, so I naturally look down on them.

  • anyone that talks trash about someone that is looking to embetter there life deserves no respect its just trashy

  • Catch 22 is not better than Streetlight Manifesto. The singer in Streetlight Manifesto used to be in Catch 22, the recording catch 22 did of the song is of better quality i'll admit, but without Thomas Kalnoky they suck.

  • this is the treetlight version no catch 22 right?

  • ya streetlight redid all the catch 22 songs tomas kalnoky wrote

  • yo dawg i heard you and yo homies like ska, so i put a trumpet in your trumpet so you can play while you play

  • Swapping spit?

  • sigh, that joke was killed not too long ago, just annoys me to see now

  • My b.=P

  • @blackparade216

ahahahhaha you combined a meme with ska.....brilliant

  • @blackparade216 buckfutter?

  • I bought it back when it came out from a small record shop in town 8)

    Fuck yes

  • Comment removed

  • i NEED this cd.

  • O RLY?

  • yeahh pretty much

  • me too. im having my friend burn it for me.

  • im so pissed, i went to buy this at the biggest cd store in my area, and they didnt have this album they had allota others tho,

so i settled for less then jake

    im sad but happy

  • What album did ya get from LTJ?

  • =] its marena on laurens account...add her christian...

  • robocrat, u should upload the everything goes numb album. thats the second best albul by streetling. i think somewhere in the between album is the best =]

  • OK I'll get around to that.=P I did upload The Saddest Song already.

  • lol, sweet. i personally dont like the saddest song that much, but whatever :-P

  • Comment removed

  • lol, sweet, u uploaded the everything goes numb album. ty, lol

  • idk i think everything goes numb is worst of the 3. i like keasbey and somwhere in the between more

  • I think Everything Goes Numb is the best. The re-record of Keasbey just isn't up to par with the original.

  • i disagree. i mean, the quality isbetter, the solo in dear sergio is better, riding the 4th wave is better (the beginning of it) over all, streetlight's keasbey is better than catch22's (thats my opinion anyway...
