  • 'Soak up some of the culture'

them words came back to haunt him...idiot

  • It's weird listening to stuff from January 2002. Good, but weird.

  • where are the rest of the recordings?

  • @aradioactivedonut telepop123 has them all..

  • @Chortleclips Thanks!

  • i kind of feel cheated out of life when i know these guys were doing what they do back then, and i was living my life not knowing they existed. im not going to lie, i have learnt alot from these guys (including karl) in the year iv'e been listening to them, and im gutted that it's not on-going. ricky gervais fm. DO IT

  • I'm surprised they didn't know the 9/11 term for it.

  • @tzjc24 don't forget, this show was only a few months after the attacks.

  • I love this episode. They're all relaxed and having a pleasant chat. There's no Ricky shouting "YOU'RE AN IDIOT!"

  • Conversation at 4:47: genesis for "An Idiot Abroad."

  • It's funny hearing Karl's expectations from holidays now that he did An Idiot Abroad.

  • karl just sounds irish when he says 9/11,dems fightin words karl"get on me nerves"hahahahahahahah

  • funny,i think the same thing about british people, how cool they sound

  • Im English and i say 9/11 not September 11th.

  • @IXIAdeIXI You have got to be very young, then...

  • Dilkington's accent is outstanding.

  • What is a sidewalk called in the UK? I didn't know there was a different term until I heard this.

  • It's called a pavement.

  • @justgaz14 No it's not! Speak American.

  • Or a path. benny punched a monkey once!!

  • in new zealand we call it a footpath.

how funny was karls american accent!

  • So people like our (Americans') accents?

  • Ha, no!

  • Hopefully its not as hard and offensive as an Irish accent.....

  • I'd rather hard and offensive to annoying and shrill :P

  • I'm judging by your " :-P " that you knew that my post about the Irish was ENTIRELY in jest.

I had the pleasure of working w/60 recent grads from Ireland about 2 yrs ago.A friend of mine owns one of the largest dot.coms (before he sold it) & would foot the bill entirely to bring deserving grads from all over Ireland 4 a month, so they could experience Chicago.

They were seriously the most fun people ever, with the most entertaining dark humor I've ever encountered.

    Please know I was joking.

  • The irish accent is quite nice, the northern irish one though... horrible

  • I'm not sure I even know the difference to be honest. I've only known like 4 Irish people and they were all from Dublin (I have no idea where where Dublin is in the state).

    Typical American..... :-/

  • Dublin is on the east coast, sort of 2 thirds the way up. Home to Guinness, the worst road tunnel in the history of the world. ever and a shit load of cranes (last time i was there anyway). As well as hundreds pf thousands of pissed tourists trying to put on an oirish accent.

Northern Ireland is the bit we brits are still clinging onto. the accent is more harsh and most people have come to associate it with stuff blowing up.

  • u dont even know where your left hand is

  • hi lads. am from derry ( up northe).

our accent altho in some cases is terrible, nadine off girls aloud particulraly, is actuali quite nice

  • i like guys with a certain american accent. i don't like the southern accent.

  • I have what we consider as a non-accent in the US. The same one we use in all the "learn english tapes."

I hate to admit this, but if I meet someone for the first time & they have a southern accent, I automatically think they are stupid. Its something they have to overcome. Im horrible for thinking like that, but I can't help it. I automatically think people from the south are ignorant & I talk slower & don't use words with more than 2 syllables.

Do you have examples of the ones u do like?

  • yep - that's exactly what i was referring to. i'm a british female and i find that kind of relaxed american 'non-accent' as you put it, really attractive on some guys. what you say about your perception of the american south is exactly the same here, but in reverse. if you're from the north, you have a strong regional accent - and if you're from the south, like me, you're considered to have a 'non-accent' - which is the accent that some americans tend to like apparently. hope that helps :)

  • that proves you are very stupid. thank u!

  • Im extremely interested bc I think the world as a whole hates our accents. I'd love 2 know if there r certain countries that do enjoy our accent, & if it was a decent place I'd consider going there on my next holiday just 2c how that would affect my experience.

My 'BFF' is English & he got girls like MAD when he lived w/me for 2 years. I don't see that happening for me anywhere.

BTW politically I resemble a french nationalist more than a US one, if u think Im possibly stereotypical American.

  • Thats about all you guys have going for you.

  • As Americans? I hope you aren't referring to politics because I can open your eyes as to what is happening here politically. Maybe you mean our accent is the only thing we have going for ourselves in attractiveness, which again I don't agree with at all, unless you are referring to stereotypes.

  • hey jophus, You have a real ghetto accent and now your here pretending you have issues with southern accent people?

  • these 3 are funny

  • I SAY TUBE ... HAHAHAHA BRILLIANT

  • MORON
