XD poor Ellefson wanted 2 be in a rockband, he was in one when he was 13/14 and now he was in MEGADETH big step XD especially from sandwiches and lemonade 2 cocaine and heroin XD
I can just imagine being Mustaine waking up to a hangover and listening to the bass line of Van Halen's Running with the devil on max volume. Don't get me wrong I like VH and that's a great song but yeah that would be annoying to listen to when waking up from a hangover.
@MeanMetalManiac4069 yes? what about it? Elleffson was accepted there in April and soon joined Megadeth with Dave...whats so interesting about that date on the letter??
@ECHOdavidoff Lol the date was april 20. That day is called 420 haha its when everybody is supposed to get high on marijuana xD I myself smoke too like almost everyday but i dont do any other shit
Chris Poland can play circles around anyone, yes including Broderick, Friedman, Buckethead, fucking anyone and if you disagree you give me something that is as clean of a sound as him.
@codebabe I gave you facts and you completely ignored them and I have said in every response "In my opinion." yet you still try to argue with my opinion and you call me the ass hole? I say Marty is a great guitarist but I don't like him as much as Poland and you call me the ass hole "for no reason?" And being defensive why do you keep saying that? Can you physically see me crying because your criticizing me? Judgmental, and arrogant typical.
@zzzhuh dude seriously. this is a really stupid argument. my only point ever was that marty and chris are equally talented. if you disagree then thats fine. but they're both super talented musicians. i dont get why you think i'm judgemental and arrogant.
@zzzhuh Hmm I haven't heard that. I think it sounds a lot fresher than most rock or metal from that time. Black Friday is freakin intense. I think at the time the only album that was more viscious was Reign in Blood, but musically Peace blows it away.
@zzzhuh if you dont think its such a good solo then name some reasons why. at least i gave reasons for why i think its a great solo. why dont you think its as good as people say, or do you have any reasons?
@zzzhuh Chris is cool. But I can't put him above Friedman simply because of the stuff Friedman has done before and after Megadeth. It doesn't really get better than Cacophony
@SpicyDragoon With Jason Becker right? Ya man that shit was pretty sick but idk man, Poland's solo albums are just great and I like how every time you hear him you can recognize it is him, his style is just so distinctive that he doesn't blend in with the other million people that play guitar.
@zzzhuh Yeah but Marty is also recogniseable, he has a really clean cut exotic style that flavoured Megadeth in ways Chris Poland wasn't able to. Take Rust In Peace for example. I doubt that R.I.P would have had been the same. Chris' demos for that album were interesting, but there's no way he was capable of doing what Marty was doing. His past in Cacophony had put him in the position to take Megadeth to the next level of guitar and musical excellence.
@zzzhuh Of course not. But look at it like this. Peace Sells, the concept of it was a political statement. Where Rust In Peace pretty muched summed up while other bands paled in comparison when it came to guitar mastery. Instrumentally it has to be one of the very best thrash albums ever. And Marty is largely that reason.
@SpicyDragoon The song was a political statement but every other song on Peace sells has nothing to do with politic's. Idk the riffs on the first two albums just have a very smooth transition from one riff to the other where as hanger 18 has a riff that just starts playing out of random. Gar just knew how to connect those riffs together through drum fills like on these boots.
@zzzhuh Hangar 18 is really all about the solos. Alas, there's Holy Wars, Tornado of Souls, Five Magics, Lucretia, Poison was the Cure. Then the stuff on Marty's Dragon's Kiss album. Through Marty's career, the genres he's done have been thrash, neo-classical, prog rock, instrumental metal, and J-Pop. A wide variety which has morphed his playing. Fair enough if you like Chris better. But he is not a better player than Marty. Marty is far too diverse to be beaten.
@zzzhuh I agree man. I met Chris Poland and saw him play in Ralwigh, NC a little over a year ago and he was so unbelievably talented!!! I was start-struck when I met him lol
no one can kick the bucket, he can play any style and jam with any musician. has come out with meal albums, techno, acoustic, carribean style music, funk, among some other weird stuff, but point being, example : slayer... if they were to soften up and try to do anything but thrash metal people prolly wouldnt dig it. or another better example metallica
@eatenbyzombies Buckethead is great and I see your point and agree with it. Buckethead is very versatile and a lot of people don't think he shows "feeling" but that is because they haven't heard his more melodic stuff. But Poland is also very versatile and his sound is so unique that I tend to respect it a bit more and it's mainly because he isn't known as well.
it has nothing to do with quality or music, a lot of pop or rap stars can sell the same amount of albums without needing to have any talent at all
if that is your argument to support metallica, you're just giving credit to the same MAINSTREAM bullshit of every empty headed non talented "artists" of nowadays
i'm not a megadeth or metallica fan, i like both only that i don't like the second half of metallica's work
It comes down to location and it always happens that these legendary bands and musicians all coincidentally live down the street from all the record companies...if Metallica or Megadeth were Canadian and from Toronto, they'd be broken up today and over.
@dyamiohshtcorriveau Yes, I had the original tape. I'm not saying Megadeth is bad, just Kill em all, ride the lighting, master of puppets and justice are better than Peace Sells and So Far. And Killing was just horrible quality the original version I had. I had peace sells before i had any metallica albums. And was one of my favorite albums and still is. Ride the Lighting is my favorite though. But Metallica sucked major ass afterwards where Megadeth didn't. That's what I'm saying.
@Bisquack Honestly, KEA was really unpolished musically. Jump in the fire is a scale. I love ride the lightning too, but peace sells is probably a better record IMO. I didn't like SFSGSW as much as I liked KIMB or PS. Once Marty Friedman joined Megadeth, all bets were off. Although Chris Poland is awesome.
@SitotiKurton ya like im going to travel allway to serbia just to get beer and cigs lmao does not matter anyways since im over age to get them in my area lol.
