@FatalDeathSG45 The Negev LMG was years before the M-249, and besides, the M-249 is an american variant of the FN Minimi while the Negev is a imroved variant of the FN MAG in an 5.56 round
@jsbeard18 So you actually think this thing will be better than the proven famas? and You are saying, with your overly uneducated and general pro-israeli "i'm blinded by my beliefs" type of talk, that the Galil (which is a rip off of the AK47) is a better weapon than the AK???? If that is the case, and that IS what your comment implies, you're not much good to any discussion on weapons.
all guns become "proven". the tavor is new, so let's see how it will become. it is rather your anti-Israeli sentiment that doesn't let you appreciate technical specs.
the galil is an amalgamation of the m16 and the ak-47...they took the best parts of both rifles and combined them.
@jsbeard18 You're right, I AM anti-israeli, and for all the right reasons. However that has NOTHING to do with it. I was telling you how YORU pro-israeli blinded by faith talk makes you like everything that comes out of that country. Galil is crap(no M16 parts in it). And I do know how to appreciate good weapons(AK47, G3). The Uzi is a great example of a successful weapon designed in Israel. So is the Desert Eagle. But Galil sucks and I have not yet tried Tavor but when I do I'll let you know.
I dont believe he is. i, for one, think Israel is much better then the US(where im from) and i think that your military is the best in the world. im not teasing. im grateful to have Israel as an ally
I am with you 100 percent i was implying that this is probobly not availible for purchase therefore I said that he was teasing. i love and support Israel all the way.
It actually reminds me something from the book of the revelation..
"The anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal.... the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything"
It may appear to barak obama. dont you think ? the last war between good and evil will...
@XactFilms islam came after christianity, and wasnt mentioned in the bible, let alone the book of revelations. If you are basing your lifes beliefs off of tainted interpretations of scripture than your are gonna be JUST LIKE those poor young boys in the mideast who dont know any better and follow the rants and tyrades of a pissed off dumbass in a robe saying that they have to kill a bunch of innocents as well as themselves...AT LEAST YOU CAN READ and find out for yourself...
Uziel Galil is practical designer. The GALIL rifle was based upon the AK-47 receiver, the Stoner 63A barrel and the M16 box magazine. He built it like a 'Swiss Army' knife to include a bottle opener. Asked why he include it was that soldiers would use magazine lip to pry off the cap! What tools does the TAVOR posses?
It is. Maybe the show includes only remodified weapons (and I don't think the Desert Eagle is used for military purposes anyway). The standard Uzi wasn't there for example. And IWI makes lots of other guns that weren't presented there.
It's probably only about the latest enhanced weapons.
Please define the meaning of "heavy steel". IWI made many light weapons, which everyone would agree, isn't junk. The Negev for example is a very good MAG that weighs only 7 kg, while fully loaded. Or did you mean something else?
'Heavy Steel' means that the receiver and associated components are steel/stamped steel/steel alloys. I do not like these polymer frames with steel inserts, aluminum alloy and zinc metal receivers. One might say that the new guns are 'rust resistant' but they contain steel components that require proper maintainance. There is no gun I know of which is 'maintainance free.' All of my firearms with the exception of a Marlin 0.22 are all 'heavy steel' which will last decades.
Isn't it a little too heavy for infantry to run around with all day? And if weapons are remade and improved every 10 years (it's not a fact, just a hunch), what's the point of having the same gun last that long?
And if the steel/steel alloys might rust, it might be hard to maintain a whole military arsenal of those...
No arguement!!! The M14 is fifty+ years old using a 0.30 bullet. The M16 is fourty years old using a 0.22 bullet. The M1911A1 pistol is over 100 years old and uses a 0.45 bullet. They are all in current MILITARY SERVICE in new variations Do you know the history of the UZI and the 9mm Parabellum cartridge? Weight of firearm is a consideration now with the load of stuff a soldier is required to carry...very reason why the 'M4' CAR-15 variant which was developed by shooters is used.
I can't agree nor argue. I'm not a specialist. But there has to be a large variety of weapons to choose from before going on a mission- the corner shot, for example, isn't optimal for most encounters, and can't be used as a standard weapon, but undoubtly, no other weapon can replace its role with the same efficiency.
The Desert Eagle was originally made by IMI for commercial sale in 0.357, 0.44 and 0.50 DE chamberings. One of my past customers was a 'gun hater' until he got the DE in 0.50 and NYPD went after him because they called it an 'assault weapon.'
I prefer something that is similar to an AR style rifle (such as an HK416) be cause I just hate how bulky most bull-pup designed guns are. Also, I like how you can have an adjustable stock on the AR style rifle instead of one huge fixed stock in a bull-pup. But that's just my opinion.
in Israel? hell no. Israel has very strick gun laws. there are many people who have guns, but unlike American we know this things are meant for personal defence not "homeland defence" this is what the millitary is for son.
