I like to look at knives for survival use. New to the all of it but like to be prepared. Do you feel that this knife will stand up to batoning (I think that's the term). I haven't gotten a lot of info on whether that is acceptable use on any folding knife. Excuse the noobness ha ha. Thanks.
@mrttou No worries buddy...In general, no folder should ever be subjected to batoning. That said, if I had to utilize this technique in order to get the job done in a true survival situation, I wouldn't hesitate. I suspect that it would handle a fair amount of this due to it's build quality. It really depends on the severity of the batoning action though.
@gotcalves Hey, thanks for stopping by to watching the whole thing! That's a pretty long video for me but sometimes ya need the time to get the details out. I appreciate the support bud!
Hey P36, always good to see somethin' from ya. I don't remember the XL voyager being so enormous. That thing's a pocket sword! I think the only production folder that can give it a run for its size is the larger CS Rajah folders. The ZT 300 series is on my list. Definitely something to put in whatever role you want and it'll pretty much handle it.
@DemonHide Thanks DH! Yeah...the Rajah and the Espada XL are probably the only CS models that are larger. I once considered the Espada XL but the weight ended up being a turn off. I hope you end up with a 300 series bro! I know you'll love the thing.
Have fun on your 2 week trip. I'm jealous. Oh man, then you have to go and whip out the onslaught. I want that knife. The ZT has a overall nice color to it. Interesting to look at the blade in that detail.
@Cr0cket20 I'm heading up to Alaska Crocket, so I'm sure I won't have too much trouble with the "fun" part. :) I was going to announce it in a future video but I just broke the news to ya. I'm with you about the Onslaught. I really dig that blade a lot. It seems to be a bit lighter duty but this is good as it makes a fast defensive edge. Thanks for dropping by bro!
@swibo6 Something about ultra robust gear huh bro. I haven't tried a fire-steel with it yet. Perhaps I'll save the test for my trip to Ontario. If it doesn't work, we'll take a rasp to it...lol.
Man that knife looks awesome. Looks very well built as most of the ZT knives that I've encountered. I'm currently carrying the ZT0350 and dollar for dollar, I think one of the best deals out there. Great video as always my friend!
@chanderson1 I didn't know you were carrying the ZT0350 but that's really cool! I'll have to look back and see if you posted a review on that one. Thanks very much for taking the time to watch buddy!
and also great choice in the Mora Forester! excellent all round blade, my clipper is always with me anytimei'm in the bush, well my daughter has claimed it now she loves it,so i must get a forester love the combo blade shape of the. $90 for a ZT.. oh wow i freaking wish i could a ZT for that price ha, again best wishes on ur travels stay strong stay safe my dear friend
@TheDishD Dish, I always thumbs up your comments brother! I always look forward to what you'll have to say as well. I don't know what duty tax runs you but if you need me to get you a price on one of these please let me know. Yeah, that X2 Voyager is really an amazing knife to carry. It carries so light and slim that it seems to defy physics..lol. It's mainly a self-defense knife for me but I don't like the say that in the video's because it sounds weird to people who don't know me.
Outstanding review vid P36! i love ur freestyle of presentation, dude that ZT is a freaking tank, yes "good weight" indeed, too true on edc'n a big blade (a Resilience is often in my rotation) i think i have blade size envy over that Cold Steel thou.. =] i digg how u compare it with other blades. i have always wanted a 301 but the price is just to rich for me! brother i want to hear/see that Mountain Lion vid, top job P36, i wish u all the best on ur "holiday" sounds awesome, take care brother.
Respond to this video... Thanks for the encouragement Dish! Nutn's term, "good weight" really applies here doesn't it. I'll get that "encounter" video up within a couple of weeks. Don't get you hopes up too much because there's no actual footage of the lion. It's basically just my reaction to one that was stalking / starring at me from about 30 yards away while filming a knife review.
@Patriot36 Cheers for the reply bro, Yep good weight is a wonderful way to describe the benefits of a "weighty" blade/kit. I might just have to hit u up on that offer (no duty tax on stuff under a grand =]) and all good on the Mountian Lion, i would love to the see the vid of ur reaction, pricless i bet! no prob's on the support my brother, quailty vid by a top notch bloke makes it too easy to support u mate. take care
@ds10363 I'll try to get that up in a couple of weeks. The video actually took place back in Nov-Dec. but I decided that I'd post it. No footage of the lion, it was all my reaction while being stalked during a knife review in the desert.
@beast12101 I'm a huge recon fan (the old one) but I suspect that the new one (non-axis) is just as tough. The AK47 knife just looks the part doesn't it! I hope you buy one so that I can watch the review on it...haha!
I was fortunate to pick of this knife at this price. It was one of those right time, right place scenarios.
This is the best and most comprehensive ZT300 review on the web! Great work.

Great vid - I am trying to decide between a zt 300 and a cold steel lawman. It would be a 4 inch large tactical folder for weekend carry.
My benchmade griptilian is my good to edc. Plus some beater sydercos.

@kenshomi2 Thank you! I'm almost certain that you'll be happy with either knife. Both get high reviews.

looks like a solid choice and you know I'm with you on the beastly knife issue!
