A lot of educators struggle with this kind of creativity and innovation of learning styles. Ron Clark's methods and students are inspirational to many educators, especially ones whom work in low-income/poverty-level schools.
so, children in low income school districts have to be "dumbed down?" i find that interesting. but that is also why we have a lot of motivational problems in society anyway. every one is a victim, do not take responsibility or pride for one's self and the well being of others. sing some silly songs and do a funny dance and everything is ok and good.
Dumbed down? You think writing songs about what the kids are learning is dumbing down? Seriously? That's very sad. It's called Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences and it's becoming more widely used because it is phenomenally successful to use. Ron Clark uses it every day in his classrooms in conjunction with Benjamin Bloom's Taxonomy of Educational Objectives. His students are top performers in the country. The kids who he work with have incredible pride and sense of responsibility
This is an exact example of what is wrong with our system. Wiufan11 doesn't know who Ron Clark is.. and probably didn't even watch the clip. He/she just wanted to mention "low income, dumbed down ,victim, silly songs and funny dance" to make a point... I think you'd be a right candidate to attend Ron's school. He'll make sure you learn a few manners
i'll speak from experience, Ron Clark personally helped me, and i'm forever grateful. He's my inspiration, and the main reason why i've brought music to my students as well.
why is this supposed to be so cool?
