XD John lennon had no vocal range at all. Gackt's vibrato is like no other. He can sing lower, or higher than Lennon ever could. Gackt also plays more insturments than Lennon ever did. Ooooo I have, I love 'Regret', it's such a lovely piece, his piano pieces really are beautiful and I like the few times I've heard his violin as well. I agree he's underrated, but I still think it would be difficult to compare and unfair on both to do so. It's like when someone says something like "omg so-and-so is the next whats-his-name" or "this versions better than that one, in staging and music" I think each has their own as each is to their own and I adore each experience I get happily :)

XD John lennon had no vocal range at all. Gackt's vibrato is like no other. He can sing lower, or higher than Lennon ever could. Gackt also plays more insturments than Lennon ever did. John is HIGHLY overrated. Gackt's music is origional, and he doesn't have liberal ideas that he preaches to everyone through his songs. Seki ray is better than any song John ever wrote, and not to menchine Gackts lyrics are FAR supperior to Johns. Gackt is origional, John wasn't. Gackt>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>....john

While some of those points maybe true, saying that Gackt is better than John Lennon is crazy. I really agree with what ChiiyukiChan said (comment above). Also John Lennon was extremely original! Where do you think messages for peace and love started from? From Lennon! Gackt has beautiful songs but most of his songs are about the same thing, love and beauty the mainstream. Lennon's music was about issues much larger than that. Also I think your forgeting what time period Lennon was from.

John Lennon- Imagine. All of his songs are repetitive.
Gackt- Humble, hard working, calm. AMAZING VOICE!
Lennon- Whiny voice, preachy and no lyrical complexity. Oh, and he was very arrogant.

take a moment to look at them lyricaly look really hard. lennon: imagine, merry christmas (the war is over) working class hero. every song was so different. but musically they were very similar from one to the next. gackt most songs lyrically has the exact same message (well narrowed down two three variations on the theme) its the musical virtuosity that really makes his music amazing

yep, it was just something i noticed. I turn all fan-girly when I hear him sing in any language. He's still amazing no matter what he does.

wow, this really cool. I think Gackt-sama is cute when he sings in different language and putting in the vibratos is his way. it might not sound as good as the original but who wants a complete copy. I want Gackt-sama to come out even though they are someone else's words.

Even though I call myself a big Gackt Fan and tend to call Gackt the 'King of J-Rock', I agree to HeartofFlame. This is not the best song to be sung by Gackt. Mr. Lenon himself didnt put any vibrato into this song. Total Opposite here. Since there are just way too much extreme Fangirls here, i expect to get a lot of bad votings for my comment, just like HeartofFlame. xP

lol, thanks. Don't get me wrong. I swoon every time I hear him sing (in any language) But it was just something I noticed. It's better than not emphasizing the feeling in the song. He could sing flat, and that would be no fun at all. ^.^
