The controls are very tight, but you have to be very precise with your jumps. The game is great if you're a fan of side-scrolling shooters, otherwise probably not so much. My only problem with it is that it's so short, only 5 levels. But it's an indie budget title, so you can't complain too much.

Why are there 360 controls displaying all the time when its a PC game that doesnt even have a 360 port?

@TheDominionOfElites The PC/Windows can use the Xbox360 controller. :) Windows is Microsoft, after all. LOTS of games support it.

Even a regular wired 360 controller will work on PC, via USB. They even make a special wireless edition of the 360 controller for PC. I have one, and it's awesome. I still prefer keyboard/mouse for shooters, but for driving/racing/flying, controller is best. I also prefer the controller for games like GTA, Saints Row, and Just Cause.

this game might not be super original but it is fun.i've played more expensive games that sucked and for the price of ARES you can't really go wrong.it's a trip back memory lane if you will - but not too redundant :)

I literally just found out about this game tonight. I downloaded the demo, and I loved it, so I bought the game. It's $9.99 on Steam, so why not? For such a fun and engaging experience, it's well worth the price. Personally, I found it to be a combination of Metroid and Megaman with a little Contra mixed in. I love the upgrade system, and have found myself going back to previous levels just for easy parts. Don't let TCB fool you, the game is easy starting out, but it does get harder.

I was kinda upset that I couldn't use my non-360 controller, but after playing it for a while, it's much better to aim with the mouse anyways.
