This shit was banging in 93' and is still bangin' in 2010--Tom J kills that shit. I bought the cassette single when I was junior in high school and used to walk to class bumpin' this and "Hed Rush" in my big ass ol' skool cassette walkman lol. Ahhhh the memories........
Man when mofo's talk about whites in rap and be like mm is new and all the shit their rasict cause there was hella whites in rap fucc'in idots didnt start listen to rap until mm, go figure!
Ahh yeah - EPMD's group Erick sermon was about 5 years early on this shyt trying to promote a white rap act. I liked this song though. "I got a cutie flyer than the flyest, blond to brunette, don't need to catch the virus"
They do tight music, but that image is corny. Look in the video how the girls are sweatin' them, but they look like 2 straight up dweebs! And Im not saying that cuz they are white. Haha.....
i liked "Hed Rush", but these kids were hot trash. Maybe it's a good thing the Hit Squad split before they dropped, cause they def. would've been the weakest links.
You obviously didn't hear their entire Lp 'Strictly Savage'(produced by Solid Scheme--the same cats that produced Das' 'Dead Serious')because these cats were anything but weak links;don't be fooled by their video and appearance;these cats wrecked that entire album.
This was obviously the most 'radio friendly' joint the label could push.
I heard enough of their sh*t to know that they were nowhere near on the level of EPMD, Das, K-Solo, and DEFINITELY not Red. I didn't hear the whole album, and I'm sure there's some solid production on there to make it passable... but I heard enough for that shit to not get my $10. And that's a time when I was buying damn near anyone's album that I thought was worth giving a listen.
Well coming from someone that fucked with all things Hit Squad that year I actually liked their album alot better than the K Solo album,'Times Up'(which was good,as well)and anything Hurricane G released.
Ofcourse they weren't lyricists of Reds caliber, but many are?
They were just some straight-up Strong Island white boys with no gimmicks that talked about what they know:blunts, mischief & music.
People like what they like, ofcourse. But EPMD wouldn't have been down with these cats for nothin'

no they weren't... they were halfway decent at best, and definitely the weakest links of the Hit Squad, simple as that.
