@PollyX5 Thank you for your comment. Cyberferal is a company that develops methods of building quality playable instruments for aspiring musicians in low technology impoverished areas of the world using local scrap or waste material. I am inspired by these pictures because they demonstrate the creativity and resourcefulness of people who clearly do not suffer with the burden of a consumer driven society. Thank you for sharing your Pastafarian comments. Enjoy.
I really enjoyed this video,my church supports alot of different missions and it is always amazing to see how people with little or nothing can get by! I will tell you just playing and building a few CBGs has made me view music from a whole nother angle.I was feeling a little sorry for myself today, out of work and possibly having neck surgery, It always does one good to see people less fortunate! Steve Winchell
Thank you. I'm sorry to hear about your unemployment and pending surgery. Yes, it is very important to count our blessing and feel fortunate for the things we have and not become fixated on the things we desire. In my mind, Charles at Cyber Feral is like the Feed the Children Foundation except instead of filling their bellies with food, he is filling their souls with music. My best wishes to him for the realization his vision. Be Well.
You've done it again Keni! Killer sound. Charles on cyberferal is a great guy. He put my "junkyard dog" inspired guitar on his site and, like you, always sharing ideas. Thanks!- Wade
Thank you my friend from Brazil. Yes, those pictures are inspiring. The desire to produce art is so strong. The creativity to use what is available is impressive. This is what is so great about the Uncle Bob guitar project. I hope Charles's vision of supply aspiring artists with instruments continues to become a reality. As for me, I would love a good cup of cafe com leite. There is a chain of coffee stores here called Starbucks. Their coffee is not as good as a good cup in Brazil. Enjoy.
Thank you Claudio. Try contacting Charles at the Cyberferal website. He may be able to help you. Also, visit cigarboxnation. I hope this information is helpful. Enjoy.
awesome, thank you keni for your advice here where I live is not so easy to find certain instruments so I have to aknowledge myself and build it up myself. thanks again and ..........never give up playing!
Thank you for your question. I certainly would be interested in a partnership, but that is not the main focus of my page. I am a big fan of the youtube community, and I have made many friends across the world. My focus is on providing instructional videos, discussing Bottleneck guitar in open tunings, and answering questions. If there are persons interested in my effoerts, and have ideas to help support it, I would encourage them to contact me. Thank you again for your interest.
Thank you. Yes, this guitar has amazing tone, and unbelievable amounts of sustain, considering it is made out of a vegetable oil can. Please check out the cyberferal website. Enjoy.
So when you are playing in the subway or street do guitars like this end up getting you more tips? I've always wondered about that. Figure that the more eyes you have on you the better tips are likely to be.
Well, now you want to know the trade secrets. lol. I mainly play the large CBG on the platforms. It certainly does turn heads, and everyone asks, Did you make that? Due to the noise on the platforms and the open area, resonators work best, if you are playing acoustically. Certainly the fingerpicks add volume, and you just can't miss that bottleneck sound. In general, clear catchy rhythms, strong melody lines with the slide, and booming vocals draws their attention. Enjoy.
Please visit the cyberferal website to see more pictures. I use a screw driver, that conviently stores in the head of the guitar. The strings are tied to wing nuts that are fixed from spinning by six metal channels. When you turn the screws that are mounted in the tail end, the wing nuts move forward or back tuning the strings. Works very well. The guitar stays in tune. Thank you for your question and interest.
Yes, I too truly appreciate these musicians tenacity to create music. I hope Charles's vision at cyberferal spreads, and the methods for building quality functional instruments gets to the people who can really use it. Thank you for your support by posting this video on your myspace page. I hope others will help spread the word. Enjoy.
lol. Thank you. Actually, I believe it is a large vegetable oil drum cut down. 5 gallon?. Recycled. The top is beveled for the bridge, and the top and bottom crimped shut like a fiddle edge. Visit the site. Enjoy.
Thank you. Please visit Charles at the cyberferal website or here on Youtube. He is tyouzcyberferal. I think his project is a wonderful way to open up friendly lines of international interaction, and provide aspiring artists with real instruments.
amazing sound on that thing. great tune too. has inspired me to look into building my own intruments. keep it up man!!
