God is completely heal your sickness , and in the times of your difficulties . . so dont forget God because kung wla sya wala kang magagawa sa buhay mo . .right . . .
It is the story of the origin of the first jews, not the first people. How else to explain why Cain, Adam and Eve's first born lamented, after God expelled him from Eden, "I shall be a wanderer and whoever finds me will kill me." Cain then went to the land of Nod and took a wife who bore him a son named Enoch? (Genesis 4, 13-17). The God of the old testament is the exclusive God of the jewish people, notwithstanding the fact that other peoples and their gods were extant at the same time.
hahahaaaaaa ! now it turns out to be that all the language used in the Bible is allegoric and that all the stories in it are for real......shit ! ,even a little kid finds more credible the adventures of Superman
A question for atheists. In a world where there's no proof of God's existence or of life after death; how will you explain to your children why you brought them into the world and why they will have to die?
"how will you explain to your children why you brought them into the world and why they will have to die?"
Easy, I'll be honest with them the way I wish my parents were with me. When my daughter is old enough to ask that, which let's be honest this question probably won't come up because no normal rational person thinks this way, i'll say it's in order to make the world a better place for everyone else and everything else. And also to share the joys of living with them.
Now let me ask you a question. In a world where there's no proof of a god's existence or life after death sans an immoral book full of atrocities and fairy tales; How will you explain to your children that you have no proof any of what you say is real and how will you explain the inherent immorality of your religion without being dishonest to your children? Or will you or have you willingly been dishonest with your children when talking about this subject?
@QuestionForAtheists There's a simple answer to that. I (as a theoretical father in this thought experiment) saw your (theoretical) mother and judged her worthy of combining my DNA with. Humans, as all mammals, seek to survive. This instinct may very well be an evolutionary trait, which we may have gotten as a result of the death of pre-historic humans which did not have this instinct. Still, Billy (or whatever his/her name would be), we love you because you are a creature of us, and not of god.
@QuestionForAtheists Why did I engage in intercourse to cause the development of my child? Because I like the idea of having a child, and because my wife does too. Because I like the idea of passing on some of my knowledge and experiences on to my child, which will make its life perhaps a little better than mine (even though by global standards it's brilliant). Why does everyone die? Because biological matter decays, because molecules break up, because the bio-machine doesn't work forever.
@QuestionForAtheists You bring children into the world so that you can share your love with them, and so that they can do the same to their children.
As for things like "what is the meaning of life" - Considering the pace at which the world is changing, your answer may not even be suitable for them, or theirs to their children. Everyone will just have to find their own answer.
Islam is just as ludicrous as all the other religions because they are ALL man-made! Consider these jokes that Islam propagates: Adam and Eve were the genetic ancestors of all mankind lol :p Supernatural beings made of fire called Jinns exist lol :p Prophet Mohammed went on an intergalactic adventure in a night on a flying donkey lol :p The earth is flat lol :p etc etc :p
@adillone Really? Isn't the stoy of Adam and Eve also part of Islam's lore too? With slight modification of course the snake being a djin for instance.
It would help if church goers would just start READING it! Journalists should start interviewing church goers and see what they understand about the bible ....you pick out some verses and scriptures.
It was made by people who wanted others to live in a certain way, today it is followed/protected/advertised/subsidized by people who want the same, to have others live in a certain way.
Religion was, is, and will always be a tool of societal control.
You mean to tell me that most people have been misreading the Bible.....Noooooooooooo! BTW same thing with the "3 wise men" Bible never says it. Sorry folks
@joecoool100 "And going into the house they saw the child with his mother mary and they fell down and worshipped him. Then opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold, frankincense and myrrh" Matthew 2:11
@lumpfish99 Spoken like a true "beliver"...thanks again for proving my point. When people ask me why I dont want to go to church anymore I will show them your quote....... going to church is to sit in a room full of people JUST-LIKE-YOU... you only know what you have been told and nothing more....I did read it maybe you should.
@joecoool100 actually i think its a pile of horse shit....but i did read that part and its in there so maybe you got a fake bible or you havent actually read it at all.
@cruiscinlan In English, the term "magi" is most commonly used in reference to the Gospel of Matthew's "wise men from the East", or "three wise men", though that number does not actually appear in Matthew's account. The plural "magi" entered the English language around 1200, in reference to the Biblical magi of Matthew 2:1. The singular appears considerably later, in the late 14th century, when it was borrowed from Old French in the meaning magician together with magic ...So they were magicans!

The essence of the story is:
1) God creates man and woman
2) God tell man and woman they can do anything they want EXCEPT think.
3) Man and woman have a thought.
4) God kicks man and woman out of his perfect garden for doing exactly what he made them capable of doing.

Because I had sex.

Why will they have to die? Because everything dies, it is the natural order of things.
What kind of fucking nonsensical bullshit pissant questions are those?
Stop looking for meaning where there isn't any. YOU create meaning, nothing else.

So... What's the point of sending your son to die for our sins if the original was just an allegory and never happened?
ApatheticOmniscience 3 months ago 30
@ApatheticOmniscience And it wasn't much of a sacrifice if he just resurrects his son 3 days later to come home and live in paradise.
