@QuestionForAtheists There's a simple answer to that. I (as a theoretical father in this thought experiment) saw your (theoretical) mother and judged her worthy of combining my DNA with. Humans, as all mammals, seek to survive. This instinct may very well be an evolutionary trait, which we may have gotten as a result of the death of pre-historic humans which did not have this instinct.
