It's called style - similar to the style of James and Etta James. Admittedly, sometimes it can be painful to listen to the straining, but everyone has bad days. Fair enough if it doesn't meet your taste, but it's just what she does.

her voice is strong...however i don't see high notes from her chest voice alone..it's all coming from her whistles and falsettos! falsettos are easy to do...whistles are as not as better than mariah! but she's a really good performer having loud and long notes! all i cay say is that she has a strong voice having loud and loud long notes! i don't see a degree of difficulty from her songs! she even cut off the note in "run to YOU..." by half on a live concert but she did it on her album!

It is debatable on how high Christina can go, but I would not say she can't hit notes I see alot of potential from her yet I have waited to see the day she hit those notes with perfection.
