I had this game when it first came out and I didn't fully appreciate it. I also owned it before I found a large group of gamers willing to play new games. The second edition seems much more polished except I'm not a fan of the marbleized pieces; they make things a little harder to see.
@Mehow80 hey where can i get more info i love the third age mode, is this going to be another mod or an official release? it would be sick either way, keep me posted
hello. i have one very important question. i have the game with no expansion, just the root game and i don't find any of those three cards with 4 points for baratheon, 3 points (and three swords) for lannister and 2 points for greyjoy. where are those cards from and why don't i have them in my game?
This was great, good work man. Production quality was solid, and the video was very informative. This is such a massive service you guys that put up these reviews render for those of us considering a purchase. Especially when you don't have the money to buy every game that catches your fancy..
@TazzyProductions No, the base game has only Stark, Baratheon, Greyjoy, Lannister, and Tyrell. Though I know that one of the expansions adds Martell.
The game is based only in Westeros, and around the first book. To give you some perspective on when it is, Robert Baratheon is not available for use, but Eddard Stark is.
oh they changed something in the german version. on the third area of influence part, tyrell starts in place 4 and greyjoy in place 5 in the beginning. maybe thats just fair since greyjoy starts with the sword and tyrell doesnt have anything
I played the game the last week almost every day haha xD and I used to like risk very much. But this game is really way better than risk. the first round is short, but all in all those 10 rounds can take the time of 3 to 4 hours. plus half an hour (not kidding) to explain the rules to new players. it is way mire tactical than risk. no dices, way more thinkin. u should defenetly buy this game if u have ppl to play with. u should also check out axis & allies, I like it very much
ah also a nice choice. a friend of mine is planning on buying that one. I myself r also very interessted in it. but I will get some other games first (descent: journeys to the dark, battles of westeros and some funny card games like red dragon inn). I hope ur friends enjoy complex boardgames. if u have a group to play its one of the finest experiences u can have in the evening. but still, research on axis & allies, its also a great game but not fantasy. its WW2
Very nice review. I do recommend that you put "A Game of Thrones Board Game" or something like that in your title or something. It took me a while to find this video. Just a suggestion for more views. Well done though!
We found the random events not to be to our liking. It makes planning hard if not impossible, because you never know when new units will arrive or when supply will update. I found the diplomatic aspects to be very well executed and loved the combat system, even though I found some of the houses special ability superiour to those of the others.
I love the game, but I could do with a reduced level of randomnes
@PrinzMegahertz Just played the game last night and I agree with the randomness of the events. We were 4-5 turns in before we had the muster card come out. The game would be better if the supply and muster would be on a specific turn and let the wildlings, bidding events to be random
Most epic game and movie ever

@dimaman15 The map is different, so are some of the house cards. There are no siege units, no ports and no house Martell.

@satyric07 That characters cards are from the first expansion; in the base game there are only 0, 1, 2 and 3 points characters.
