  • Went to Laos in 2008, stayed at a good friends house in Selabam, 30 km north of Pakse. Nice video, brought back many good memories. Did you taste the padek? fermented fish. Smells awful, but I survived! :)

  • i'm laotion myself. born in ubon thailand but,was raised up in pakse, laos until the age of 6. our family emigrated to the U.S.A., IN 1976. Even though i'm practically americanized by my new way of life, seeing my former village/town/city in this video fills me with joy/pride that i am laotion. It's sad that i've lost alot of my culture. i can only hope i can pass what i know of our culture and customs to my 3 racially mixed boys. i have a yearning for my old country:(:(( thank you for this post

  • i miss pakse... i love it there..hopefully i get to return back soon thanks for the video brings back memory

  • I was in there in Laos in May too!! Thunderstorms were quite scary indeed!!

Also, I noticed you say "paksi" but it's actually "pak-say" ^^

  • omg this is awesome! thanks! my parents are from pakse- can't really describe how it felt to watch this- so interesting! the kid at the guesthouse napping was hilarious! and the school kids running in the rain was too cute! thanks!
