To put it nicely;she betrayed him.Though she loved Vincent;who at the time was her bodyguard and a Turk,she was married to Hojo.She got pregnant by Hojo and agreed when Sephiroth was born he would be use for experiments.Vincent tried to change her mind and ended up getting shot by Hojo;then experimented on.She felt guilty for the pain she had caused; abandoning Sephiroth(people thought she had died)and imprisoned herself in Mako.Vincent blames himself for not being able to stop or save her.
