I totally agree. I relize that hes like 12 in this video, but u gotta think that when this kid gets older and starts to understand the blues a little better, he'll be unreal. He's tryin to be popper without enough musical theory involved. I can't wait to see this kid when he's 18...MY GOD is he gonna be somethin!
Check out some early LD performing in a local bar. Before AGT. He sings in this and seems to grasp more of the emotion when he plays the harp. Perhaps that may be what ne should do more of. Otherwise, he's a talented musican. Just think what he'll be like in ten years. There's more than corn in Indiana; from one Hoosier to another. Fever - The Clayton Miller Band
Nice to hear the Les Paul tones, in contrast to the classic Strat he uses a lot-for some feels the Les Paul just has the goods. This guy certainly has the goods too...
you have to get good before you can get fast.....and damn that kid is fast........and better than good....slow down and feel it?...i'de say he's past that.....good luck to ya LD....not that you need it.
gotta agree with the other bloke, hes too showy, and makes a mess of it, he'll be good when he matures. Reminds me of a 9year old russian kid playing shred guitar. He couldnt play slow for shit.
amen cmsquared07 i hate that, haters like that prob have no musical talent and no confidence in even being a lover of music. just pray for the ignorant for they know not what they do lol
totally agree with badger...this Ld guy has got talent up the yangyang...but technique has got nothin over style & class...never the less i cant wait what the future brings for this young'n...maybe in a few yerars he'll poke sum smot...experience the life and shock us all..groove to ur own groove my man
shut up you dont know shit, joe bonamassa is one of the greatest guitarists i have ever heard live. its a crappy recording you idiot, joe's tone kicks ass
Wow, LD... just take it all in... I would just let these guys school you any way they can. Life hits ya in the face and smacks you flat on your ass... makes a different sound for everyone. I look forward to hearing that sound. And let yourself lie down in the looooow tones once in a while.
Velmous, did you grow up near a glue factory? You're going to compare a kid to Magic Dick? Also I know that tone is a subjective matter but Joe does not suffer from bad tone. The guitar sounds distant? How loud would you want it to be for God's sake?
And why did Albert King's name come up every time SRV's name came up in a conversation? It's called "passing the baton." There are only so many note combinations in a blues penatonic scale. You play the blues, you're gonna play some notes that those who came before you played. You think the blues stopped with SRV? Hardly.
Nice to see Joe giving a young Star his chance to shine like BB Hooker Guy ETC. Did for Joe. And Venomous u need u to ethier post yourself making better music or remove that stick from your ass. P.S this is youtube man its not like this stuff is recorded proffesionaly most videos of SRV and others on utube sound so bad they are unwatchable.
Magic Dick of the J.Giles band blows this harmonica kid off the map. Joes guitar sounds distant on this track...he really needs to get some better equipment.
Dude you are just a real pain in the butt. Nothing is ever good enough. I am guessing you are a frustrated musician with very little talent. Magic Dick? what is he like 100... this kid is a baby compared to him.
The more I see of JD... W O W !!! For those that need to get right to this phenom go to about 2:53 on this vid. Of course watching the whole thing's cool too (Joe rocks). I just can't believe that someone can be SO GREAT, at any age, and he's gonna get better. Certainly destined to be the best ever IMO. Note, I'm no blues harp aficionado, but I'm a musician and know you need chops to communicate your soul and his chops on the harp are as good as anyone I've seen on any instrument.
I dont know about the best ever. Stevie Wonder was the best at his age. But, I have heard many that are just as good. LD is bad with out a doubt because of his age. He has a way to go yet. However, you simply dont hear them as good as he is for his age. Good job LD!
LD has a great gift and that's why he's playing with the master himself! The world should watch this kid because in a few years he could be the next popper. I think he's going to go far. Did you guys see him and the Millers on America's Got Talent? They totally rocked out. I can't wait to see them again on the show and live in concert - LD rocks!
Joe said this kid is the best harmonica player in history...I agree. Just saw him on America's Got Talent...WOW. Be sure to vote for him. Looks like he is running a distant second to another Idol style singer who can't play an instrument or write. Real music fans: Vote it up on nbc.com for LD and his brother next week!!!!
LD is so lucky. If I had the chance to play with Joe Bonamassa...man. Thats awesome. LD can kick ass on that harp too! Im only a year older than him. But I play guitar. Man, I wanna see LD play live one day.
LD is good... I really admire his speed and accuracy on the harp for his age, but there is something that I am wondering about. I don't hear him on the low notes very well. He seems to stay on the high. Not that that is bad, but I think there can be more interesting sounds if he hit some lower licks.

its amazing how much LD Miller's improved since this video. in this he's so repetitive. recently, his speed's serving him much better

bonamassa always kills it, miller kid needs to focus on the quality of tone and inflection rather than jamming a million notes into every measure.

LD has to slow it down even though he has talent he plays most of the things to fast, he needs to lay back and go with more of the feel of the song

the kids got talent no doubt...but i wish he would learn how to accent and complement the other players..rather than try to steal the show

his tone is distant? youre a fool, and you must be going deaf. the "distance" you hear is the natural reverb in the concert hall. moron...

I like the competiveness but Joe does does have the blunter instrument. Also second the low notes. Otherwise great fun.
