Using a PVC pipe as a cam shaft was a wonderful idea and SAFE. I made one in the early 1999 with a steel cam shaft and a huge electric motor. I plugged it in and this thing was so violent that it scared me enough to not ever put it on display at Frightland.

Thank you for showing how this is constructed! Its people like yourself that help for evolutionary chasnges in animatronics!. Im actually in the works to construct an animatronic plant and are using the bookshelf design that you showed. Im tweeking it just a bit but in a several months Ill make sure to send you the vid.
