I think so. That is author/professor James Bryan Smith's attic apartment where Rich lived when he lived in Wichita in the early 90s. Rich brought a whole crew in to shoot it :) And that floor used to have carpet but Rich took it up :) I learned those things at the Memorial for Rich in Wichita - i too am a person who has been ... pretty much rescued from myself and thrown back into God's arms because of the life & ministry of Rich! - so i remember a lot from that day.
He wrote it as a prayer song - and i do find myself praying that almost daily. I love all of Rich's music. It's like it was written today. (truth's like that... timeless)

He asked Jim if he could make "a few changes" to the attic and Jim and his wife came home one day to find Rich had taken up ALL the carpet, rolled it up and left it on the curb ;-)

Honestly, i'm not within the religious circle anymore that this was normally circulated in. But, the man was a musical genius. He is one of perhaps 3 artists i'll still listen to, you could tell it was from his heart, his soul and he was real. I did see him live once and i'd consider it life changing along with Elliot Smith.

I've just been given a gift. I was shown in a relatively short paragraph most of my negative comments made on the different sites. I'd like to apologise for they were not kind and I was not responding as a christian should. My choice of words were hurtful and made in haste and anger. Not sure if anyone mentioned this but this video was shot in Wichita, Kansas at the home of author James Bryan Smith (his books are awesome, BTW!), where Rich lived for a time. He asked Jim if he could make "a few changes" to the attic and Jim and his wife came home one day to find Rich had taken up ALL the carpet, rolled it up and left it on the curb ;-)
This song - wow. Still being used in my life. I am so grateful that we got to have this man on the planet for as long as we did. Love Rich!

God so blessed us with this man in our lives for the short time he was with us. And I do feel (still) quite a void without his music. It was truly, truly God ordained inspired music from the heart and soul of God through Rich. Wow, I miss him too !

Well put. I did not come to know of his music until after he was gone (and that is another story) but still regret that he is not here to give us more. I also believe that when the time is right God will send us another. He seldom leaves us without a "prophet".

perhaps it is you who misunderstand what faith is. True Christianity is not merely a nod to an intellectual argument or way of being that is simply agreeable. obama is most certainly not a christian. A mans politics come second and are followed by and formed by his religion IF his faith rings true. religion is an outward show of faith and true faith is given by God through the Holy Spirit.

FOCA Freedom of Choice act is a law being floated around out there. It would repeal every restriction on abortion. Obama said if he was president and this bill came to his desk he would pass it. I Agree. Rich Mullen's music is part of what brought me back to my Christian Faith (along with time in the middle east and exposure to what some of the alternatives are). I only wish that I knew of him when he was alive but blessed none the less by the music and the message he has that lives on!
