It is not really brought up much, but his fan site and various other articles mention that Taker approached Orton shortly after the wrestlemania angle was brought up saying that he wanted him to be the guy to end the streak b/c he felt he had "it", and wanted to get his "legend killer" gimmick over more. However, Orton out of respect for Taker refused to do it.

I don't know what he's doing about his legend killer quest. I think he's done killing legends maybe. But all that a side at least he's doing great as a heal. And Dave Batista was making no progress as face.. he was terrible when he was face... it just didn't suit his character... so him being heel is a good and positive change. And just give it a few more weeks and hopefully the storyline of Dave and Randy forming a team and going for the Unified Tag titles and more will come soon.

Agreed. Legacy is pure garbage, with no athletic ability, whatsoever. The old Orton was undoubtedly my favorite, but I still enjoy the heel side of him.
